…it pours.
What better way to celebrate 12k steps than a walk through the town when the waters are rising? More ways than one.
My day started early with a trip through the country to pick up the local news. Every couple weeks, I help a local newspaper distribute and promote local news. Fancy way of saying a paper route with some social media promotion. Make for good @actifit steps for sure.
We had a wild day yesterday with all kinds of rain, snow, thunder and lightning, and the fields on my drive often resembled ponds
Even the streams through small towns were swollen and flowing strongly.
On the way back into town, another small field lake as the sky cleared.
By the time I hit the middle of town, it became a 17 Celsius sunny spring day!
There were even some in-town lane closures because of the storm water.

The 10th hole and a little more at the local golf course was actually under water which makes me happy I have such an awesome indoor golf option!
The skinny calm streams in town were now flowing like rivers. Those railings are for a walkway that is presently under water.
For sure these well-landscaped yards will grow lush and green for the extra water but this accumulation makes the property owners think of better drainage options.
My yard is as bad as it gets. Followers who saw the #hivegarden update my recognize my yard with the freshly fallen tree and the new pond that has formed around it. I will be hoping for rain in the middle of July and will hopefully remember the moist start of the season.

Ouch, I am sorry for that :/
Haha no big deal really. Our yard floods yearly without effecting our house and it all dries up. Biggest pain in the ass is catching the dog when he comes in to wipe his wet muddy feet.
Oh, now that sounds better :)
oh, my! That's a lot of water! 😮
Apparently, that same storm turned to ICE before it hit the area where ShadowsPub lives, as she lost electricity because of an ice storm. After several days, power is restored. So glad you didn't have the same to report!
Yah she is just over a couple hours east of us. I think that was the storm before this one that knocked out the power for so many people.
Here is was just a day of wet snow that turned into thundersnow!
I hope your "beer garage" only has boiled water in beer :-)
Oh definitely.
Our water is drinkable right out of the tap but we definitely boil to start the mash and then keep it rolling for like an hour to get all the sugar from the grains and flavour from the hops.

You can see how hazy the boiling water makes the room.
I meant if the rain washed out your brewhouse :-).
The foggy garage looks a bit like a medieval alchemy lab :-D
Your profession as a newspaper delivery man ceased to exist a long time ago in my country Venezuela, I would like to have a job like that, hehehehe.
You have work to do the yard, but you must be used to it. Greetings. @zekepickleman
It is definitely the same here but there is 1 company buying up and revitalizing the small town newspapers to preserve them. Nice to see news and community service and commerce and law being handled at the community level when the trend is to have huge decentralized corporations and governments squeeze them out.
Unlike other countries, if you make your way here, we won't throw you in a gulag without due process and I would be happy to have you on the team to take care of the bi-weekly paper delivery!
😅🤣😉😘🫠
Important win yesterday for the Canadiens. 👍
They all are really. Sweeping the Stanley Cup Champions on the season is a little nuts and they have to keep the good times rolling if they are to make it to the playoffs!
We beat the Rangers 4-0, it's already looking good for Montreal if they beat the Flyers today.
Yah the habs are on a bit of a heater lately and owe the Flyers a little revenge for the loss last week. Fingers crossed as they have to finish strong to have any chance. Chance of what? Squeaking in and having to face the damn Capitals as their damn first test. either way, good to be in the playoffs rather than not and a few miles on so many new guys will do the team good.
Yes, it would obviously be tough against the Capitals.
But who knows, anything is possible in the playoffs.
The Devils also probably won't have much of a chance of making it far without Hughes, Hamilton, and Siegenthaler, but I love watching playoff games.
This is just a really cool idea man. I like how simple it is too. More people should try things like this, definitely makes for good steps. Sorry about the yard 🙏
No big deal it dries right up and there is plenty of water in the ground for the veggie roots to reach for when we plant.
oh then that's good
Oh wow...it's feast or famine, flood or drought. It's the same around here, though on a slightly different timeline. It looks like the dogs are saying WTF?!?..no room to poop!! lol
Yah maybe he has to learn to go in water like people! ;)
lol
Ahh, these newspapers, glad to know there are people who prefer reading rather than social media.
Thai funny notion of my childhood, I view people reading this as intelligent 😆.
Why? I tried one time and I didn't understand 🤣.
The newspapers to me were a failing media til I looked closer at how local news is a way a community connects. Now, I see the advertisers as news sponsors rather than just advertisers and we help the newspaper company promote itself in the community.
