Welcome back!
Today I am sharing images of the recent progress on my little Yew tree. Over the last few years, this tree has proved it has a uncanny tendency to burst into new life by producing lots of suckers from internode buds.
In June, it had so much lush foliage covering its body, so I decided to whittle it down a bit to show off the hidden trunk and primary branches.
Branches? Where are they?
Historical Information
ID: 0067
Nickname: Unnamed
Type: Yew "Densiformis". Taxus x media.
Age: About 7 years
Grown: nursery stock, gift
Last repotting: October 30, 2021
Wired: A few years ago
A few minutes later, the tree has transformed with my careful cuts.
There were branches growing between branches, and branches growing between those. Some of the needles on the lowest limbs were dying after turning dull yellow, due to lack of light. I even spotted some scale bugs sucking on those lowest, shady limbs.
Those ugly squishers had to go!
Opening up this tree's interior to the sun will drastically protect this tree from diseases.
On another bright side, the clover is blossoming. It usually blooms prior to July when the heat spell begins, and then everything in the lawn dies up.
Look closely, and the flowers are pictured alongside the Yew tree.
Side Note: On New Ecency Post Editor
Some thoughts for any folks searching for #feedback and #comments on the new #ecency #editor. This is actually my first time trying it out, and I am working on my tablet.
The image uploading tools are much more streamlined and organized on my screen. I really like picking images from the gallery.
Image and Text Layout
My only #critique is the way the spacing works between the end of one image and the next. I was unable to insert line spacing for body text between images. I had to delete images and re-add them from the gallery after my holder text was written first under the first images.
Not a big deal. It just changes the way I like to write, which is to look at the images on my screen first, and then use it to draw inspiration to create text.
I also had difficulty with the caption text boxes. It doesn't seem to allow me to write text on multiple lines inside the caption. Deleting the captions also caused me to delete my images a second time, so I found it more difficult to use.
Snippets
When I finished my post, I wanted to include my regular snippets, such as my footer image and text. It threw me back into the classic text editor, without copying in all of the work I finished in the previous editor. Just a blank new start. I am not sure what to do about this. I like this new editor so much, why would I want to go back to the classic editor?
How am I supposed to implement my old Snippets into the new editor mode? Am I supposed to make new ones with the new editor, to imitate the old ones?
Line Spacing
Not sure what has happened to line spacing controls. It seems to force a line space break between every line now. Sometimes I prefer to keep vertically stacked text in a tighter block, and that doesn't seem possible with forced line spaces.
Coolest Features
I am so used to typing in single, triple, and quadruple hashtags to set heading text, and I love how this was preserved. It lets me set and forget the heading size I want, then hides the hashes, so I never have to see them again. So clean!
My favorite feature is the floating toolbar that stays at the top no matter how far I scroll. There is far more room in the editing window to share with my touch keyboard. Awesome redistribution of screen real estate.
Everything works better. Text selection on a tablet is usually and infuriating process of drag pressing and pulling, mispressing, and accidentally deleting or moving the wrong text, because it is too tight. With the new editor style, text selection is a breeze. It saved me a ton of time being able to touch the beginning and end of text strings so easily.
Conclusion
Overall though, it is nice and clean and easier to edit directly into the preview, and without having to look past any coded areas.
Usually I cannot post anything with this much level of detail and organization using only my tablet. I usually end up having to do most everything on PC, because mouse mode and a larger monitor usually makes everything easier.
So a big thank you for allowing me to edit so easily using only my mobile device!

Thanks @steven-patrick. I have some solutions to some of these issues as I have faced them myself and had to ask for help, but I am going to send this along to Ecency devs and will return with their feedback.
Thanks for taking the time to point out the things you struggled with.

No thanks. Please do not promote these kind of comments here, or elsewhere.
Lovely trim on your yew 👍 shows the art of bonsai finding the form under all the growth... of course you created the form too - with your previous work.
@melinda010100 check out some thoughtful comments on the new editor from a thoughtful dude
@creativetruth Melinda is a dear friend and quite involved in Ecency
Does anyone know how the advanced settings work?
I am searching for how to post to community and also to my normal blog list.
The only option I can find is pin to blog, which isn't the same.
I have been still using the classic editor ☺️
On top of editor there is My blog dropdown which you can click and select community. Advanced section is moved into 3 dot menu. Here is screenshot to illustrate:
Yes, that adds it to blog, but not to the community.
And vice versa.
Yes I can add it to a community, but then I can't add it to my blog.
Have we removed the ability to add it to both?
I used to be able to choose "Add to my blog" in the advanced settings. I also recall the ability to be able to hit the ... icon by post title in my feed, to choose "Add to my blog".
Never had to cross post or pin to add a post to my community and my blog in the past. Is cross posting the preferred method now for adding a published post to a blog or community?
When you publish to Community, you can simply Reblog to put that exact post into your Blog page as well.
Thank you very much for detailed feedback!
