Here are my week one hundred and four recommendations for Three Tune Tuesday

** Drum roll please.....**

Rory Gallagher - Tattooed Lady

If it was the 1970s and you were into rock music, you would definitely know who Irish rocker Rory Gallagher was. Of course it's 2023 and I'd be willing to bet that three quarters of you have never heard of Ballyshannon's favourite son and Irish rocker Rory Gallagher.

He sadly died in 1995 at that tragically young age of just 47 with so much still to give, like all renowned musicians though he left his legacy behind for the ages through his music and I'll share three of my favorites with you here today.

I'll get things going with my personal favorite Tattooed Lady track number one from the 1973 album Tattoo.

Rory Gallagher - Bad Penny

Next up we'll take a later track, this time from 1979 and a second called Bad Penny. We all know a Bad Penny or two.

This song is about someone in your life who causes you strife and who you'd be better off without, but for whatever reason, you can't seem to shake them off. They seem to turn up whenever you don't want them to. This line sums up the Bad Penny:

"I think you know how it was when I tripped and fell,
Well, you double-dealed me, baby and I broke like a shell."

I'd say Rory is referring to an ex girlfriend who did the dirt on him or gave him the run around somehow.

Here, have a listen.

Rory Gallagher - A Million Miles Away

Rory was a music man from a young age starting with a plastic ukulele as a toddler and eventually graduating to a Fender Stratocaster aged 14, as attested to on his website www.rorygallagher.com and shared below.

Rory initially started out on a Woolworths plastic Elvis ukulele, but at the age of 9, when the family moved to Cork, Monica Gallagher’s home town, he got his first acoustic guitar. From then, there was no stopping him. He studied guitar relentlessly and played small shows around the city. He won a talent contest at the age of 13, when he got his first electric guitar. Age 14, he joined the Fontana Showband, and the following year, bought the Fender Stratocaster that became famous as the battered guitar which was his preferred instrument the rest of his life.

I'll finish out this week's trio of tunes with another firm favourite of mine A Million Miles Away and I'll go for a live version to give ye a feel for this Irish Rock and Guitar legend. Hopefully I have introduced him to a few of ye.

Do yourself a favour and watch the whole video and actually watch Rory and how he pours every piece of himself into the performance. Try to allow the 6 or 7 minutes to enjoy the song without distractions, for me it's a masterpiece and there's few alive, if any who can play and deliver like Rory.

R.I.P big man..

Three Tune Tuesday

That's right, it's Tuesday folks and for our merry little band of ladies and lads, that means sharing tunes, good vibes and engagement. As another week disappears in the rearview mirror, we have loads of engagement and tunes flying around on Three Tune Tuesday and sure isn't that bloody fantastic! I hope you're ready to share three tunes from wherever you find yourself on this magical spinning lump of rock that we all call home and sure you might even sing us a tune if we're lucky?

It's a time of the week when lovers of music, tunes and craic bring their blockchain community three of their finest and brightest tunes to share and celebrate, so let's roll on and let the tunes flow free.

This is my 104th week waxing lyrical for Three Tune Tuesday and we are still going strong.

It started off with me just sharing tunes into what seemed like a void, but little by little others joined and now I'm thrilled that we have a little corner of Hive where we come and share our tunes every Tuesday, and long may it continue. I almost stopped posting the songs and thoughts a few times, but I stuck with it and now interestingly it is my favorite thing about Hive. I love music and now I have a network of folks around the world who love music too and we share our tunes and catch up with each others tunes and discuss them each week. We get Pop, Metal, Rock, Gospel, Folk, Jazz, Rap, Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Reggae, Bippy bappidy Flange Hop. Ok I made that one up, but you get the idea, we are all learning about new artists, bands, back stories and sure isn't it just mighty!

Something that excites me the most is that we even get musicians sharing their covers of famous songs and even their own songs from time to time here on #ThreeTuneTuesday, which is a real favorite of mine, as that takes talent, time and dedication.

We are adding New posters and retaining our core of regulars here on #TTT which is fantastic. Let's keep it growing. Weekly, I try to find four to six hours to listen to all of the fantastic music shared from like-minded folk from around the globe and interact with their posts. This has led me to genres I don't know well and to some amazing new bands and artists and has even introduced me to some musical instruments I did not know existed. It also allows me to upvote smaller accounts and find some really interesting people from all over the world, which is heartening.

I hope you enjoy the tunes - be sure to tell me all about it in the comments below and above all else, please enjoy the rest of your Tuesday - smile at a stranger, rub a dog, be a nice human to someone who was not expecting it - peace out.

For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday....

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.
