Nunca me había puesto a pensar en esos momentos en los que a la hora de escoger un buen tema musical, el plano de las baladas y la música romántica ceden su espacio a un momento volátil y muy movido en el cual las emociones parecen acelerarse un poco más de lo normal. Normalmente es una música que deseas escuchar a todo volumen y sin dudarlo empiezas también a cantarlas con total energía e intensidad, aunque esto signifique tener que alzar la voz más de lo acostumbrado.
De hecho, no suele ser tan común seleccionar estos temas musicales, pero siempre llega ese día en el que dices “Hoy vamos a otro ritmo”, uno que se convierte en ese estímulo para las ideas, las fuerzas y todo lo que deseamos llevar a cabo a partir de ese instante. De manera metafórica, con estas canciones decido ir a otra velocidad, tratando de experimentar el mismo éxtasis de aquellos tiempos memorables en los que la música se convertía en ese grito temerario y lleno de rebeldía. ¿Rebeldía musical? Podría llamarlo así, asumiendo dicha frase como un llamado a ese ser interior que llevamos dentro y que solo por momentos llegamos a liberar a través de la música.
I had never thought about those moments in which when it comes to choosing a good theme song, the ballads and romantic music give way to a volatile and very moving moment in which emotions seem to accelerate a little more than usual. It is usually music that you want to listen to at full volume and without hesitation you also start singing them with full energy and intensity, even if this means having to raise your voice more than usual.
In fact, it is not usually so common to select these musical themes, but there always comes that day when you say "Today we are going to another rhythm", one that becomes that stimulus for ideas, forces and everything we wish to carry out from that instant on. In a metaphorical way, with these songs I decide to go at a different speed, trying to experience the same ecstasy of those memorable times when music became that reckless cry full of rebellion. Musical rebellion? I could call it so, assuming that phrase as a call to that inner being that we carry inside and that only at times we get to release through music.
“Everybody” (Backstreet Boys)
A veces hay canciones que tienen un impacto tan único del cual difícilmente puedes escapar, y sin duda alguna este es uno de ellos. A decir verdad no había lugar, espacio o celebración en donde esta canción pudiera faltar. Con una intro original, “Everybody” se convirtió en un total éxito al que muchos amantes de la música nos sumamos sin pestañear. ¿Cuántos nos atrevimos a copiar la coreografía original del tema? Realmente era un espectáculo ver a muchos bailar está canción en medio de la discoteca.
Recuerdo estar en plena secundaria cuando una chica me llamó al teléfono de mi casa para ponerme esa canción. Al principio fue mi mamá quien atendió, pero aquella chica temeraria le dijo a mi mamá que por favor la comunicara conmigo porque ella estaba llamando para cantar esa canción. ¡Y lo hizo! La chica se aprendió la canción completa y con una buena pronunciación del idioma, y aunque para ese entonces yo no la había conocido en persona, pues de igual forma me dijo que estaba practicando la coreografía del vídeo original para un evento especial en su colegio, una celebración a la cual ya me estaba invitando.
"Everybody" (Backstreet Boys)
Sometimes there are songs that have such a unique impact that you can hardly escape from, and without a doubt this is one of them. Truth be told, there was no place, space or celebration where this song could be missing. With an original intro, "Everybody" became a total hit that many music lovers joined without batting an eye. How many of us dared to copy the original choreography of the song? It was really a spectacle to see many of us dancing to this song in the middle of the discotheque.
I remember being in high school when a girl called me on the phone at home to play that song for me. At first it was my mom who picked up, but that reckless girl told my mom to please put her through to me because she was calling to sing that song. And she did! The girl learned the entire song with good pronunciation of the language, and even though I hadn't met her in person by then, she still told me that she was practicing the choreography of the original video for a special event at her school, a celebration to which she was already inviting me.
“Without me” (Eminem)
Probablemente está sea una de las canciones que más gracia me da, pero una gracia desde el mejor sentido de la palabra. Desde la primera vez que la escuché me pareció buena, y después de ver las ocurrencias de este cantante a la hora de plasmarlo en un vídeo pues resulta imposible no querer disfrutar de esta canción. En mi caso, todos los días esperaba el top cinco de MT V donde dicha canción estuvo presente por largo rato.
Este tema también me permitió conocer aún más la trayectoria de este cantante, y así pude descubrir otras canciones que aguardan temas interesantes y con un sentido que te permite disfrutar de buena música. De hecho la canción “Stan” es una de mis favoritas por la forma en como desarrolla una historia que pudieras cuestionar pero que tampoco está alejada de la realidad. Volviendo a la canción “Without me”, pienso que los que han escuchado esta canción no pueden evitar una carcajada al imaginar a Eminem disfrazado de Robin, algo que le da ese toque especial de ocurrencia y creatividad.
"Without me" (Eminem)
This is probably one of the songs that I find funniest, but fun in the best sense of the word. From the first time I heard it I thought it was good, and after seeing the witticisms of this singer when it comes to capture it in a video, it is impossible not to want to enjoy this song. In my case, every day I was waiting for the top five of MT V where this song was present for a long time.
This song also allowed me to learn even more about this singer's career, and so I was able to discover other songs that await interesting themes and with a sense that allows you to enjoy good music. In fact the song "Stan" is one of my favorites because of the way it develops a story that you could question but that is not far from reality. Going back to the song "Without Me", I think that those who have listened to this song can't help but laugh when imagining Eminem dressed up as Robin, something that gives him that special touch of wit and creativity.
“Going Under” (Evanescence)
Si hay una mujer capaz de combinar fuerza y belleza, esta es Amy Lee. Desde siempre me ha parecido como una cantante capaz de transmitir una hermosa melodía con tanta fuerza e intensidad que solo su belleza puede equilibrar. “Going Under” no es quizás mi favorita cuando la comparo con la que para mí es la mejor, un clásico de clásico como lo es “My inmortal”, pero si es mi primera opción cuando busco ese performance contundente y dominador. Quizás el vídeo original no sea para mí gusto el mejor, pero la melodía y el control de la canción es muy adictiva a la hora de ponerle un ritmo especial a mis días.
Con esta canción tuve una experiencia peculiar a través de un programa de radio. Recuerdo que llamé para solicitar esa canción, pero extrañamente el locutor dijo que no podía colocarla por algunas ideas extrañas que mencionaba la canción. ¿Ideas extrañas? Eso fue lo que dije, e inmediatamente me pasé a otra emisora en la que colocaban pura música en inglés. Bastaron unos veinte minutos aproximadamente para que, sin alguna solicitud de mi parte colocaran este excelente tema.
Así, mi lunes musical empieza a todo tren y con estos tres temas que desde el primer segundo ya van contagiándome con el ánimo y la energía que alimentan una buena actitud en mí. No tengo la menor duda del efecto positivo que estas canciones pueden llegar a tener sobre mi conducta y mi forma de ver el inicio de este día y de una nueva semana, viéndolo como una maravillosa oportunidad para repotenciar mis fuerzas y mis metas que con tanto anhelo deseo alcanzar.
"Going Under" (Evanescence)
If there is a woman capable of combining strength and beauty, this is Amy Lee. She has always seemed to me like a singer capable of transmitting a beautiful melody with so much strength and intensity that only her beauty can balance. "Going Under" is perhaps not my favorite when compared to what for me is the best, a classic classic like "My Immortal", but it is my first choice when I'm looking for that powerful and dominating performance. Maybe the original video is not for my taste the best, but the melody and the control of the song is very addictive when it comes to put a special rhythm to my days.
With this song I had a peculiar experience through a radio program. I remember I called to request that song, but strangely the announcer said he couldn't play it because of some strange ideas the song mentioned. Strange ideas? That's what I said, and I immediately switched to another station where they played pure English music. It took about twenty minutes or so for them to play this excellent song without any request from me.
So, my musical Monday starts at full speed and with these three songs that from the first second are already infecting me with the mood and energy that feed a good attitude in me. I have no doubt about the positive effect that these songs can have on my behavior and my way of seeing the beginning of this day and of a new week, seeing it as a wonderful opportunity to boost my strength and my goals that I so eagerly wish to achieve.
