Hi folks
This week for @ablaze 's Three Tune Tuesday I'm going with 3 Bob Dylan Tunes.
The first tune of the set is called "Rambling Gambling Willie". This is a rework of an old Irish folk tune called "Brennan On The Moor" which the Irish folk group The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem used to play in their sets in the early 1960s in Greenwich village in New York City.
A young Dylan probably around age 17-18 was exposed to and heavily influenced by songs like this early in his career. Dylan took this song which was originally about a legendary Irish highway man named Willie Brennan who lived in the late 18th and early 19th century and re wrote it to be about a gambler named Will O Connolly which was one of the pseudonym's for Wild Bill Hickock.
I first heard this tune in a Liam Clancy concert where he talks about meeting Dylan during this magical time in the early 1960s.
Here is a version of the song sung by Liam Clancy.
The next 2 songs were inspired by the Dylan documentary "Dont Look Back" which was filmed by D.A Pennebaker during Dylan's 1964 UK tour.
The first song is Love Minus Zero / No Limits. I couldn't find the version from "Dont Look Back" so here is a lovely version from the 1965 Newport Folk Festival.
"Dont Look Back" is a great piece of musical history.I doubt D.A Pennebaker would have realised at the time the magic he was capturing. In one scene we see Dylan talking with John Lennon in the back of a London cab, they are discussing Johnny Cash among other things.
There is one scene where Scottish folk musician Donovan plays a song before handing the guitar to Dylan. Donovon asks Dylan to play "Its all over now baby blue"
Here is the clip, one of my all time favourite pieces of film.
I close my set this week singing baby blue doing my best Dylan impression.
Hopefully you have enjoyed my tunes this week.
Until next time stay safe and take care :).

Hello @celticheartbeat 😊 I didn't had the chance till now to properly hear you and I realized was missing out a lot! Lovely post this week and I'm sorry I didn't check your post in other weeks (I've been falling a little behind 🙈).
First of all I find it really sweet that you close your eyes when you sing. For me it shows me you're really connected to music when you're playing and that's the best artist quality to me. When I try to sing I really need to close my eyes too, that's when I feel more connected with the flow of the melodies and just letting go.
Regarding the songs I specially liked song number 2. The guitar flow has a really cool and uplifting vibe to me, or maybe it's just your talent and guitar flow that passes me that vibe ^^
I've also been taking guitar lessons but I'm very noob and clumsy still 😆 But I enjoy it so I've pushed myself from the foolish thoughts that I'm too old to learn or be good at it. Just want to be able to enjoy it more and that's it.
As you can see I tend to diverse and introspect a lot so if you're a bit bored by this comment I friendly warn you that my #ttt post are usually long and full of overthinking stuff hehehe 😇😇🤣🤣
See ya next tuesday and keep rocking! 🤘🤘
!LUV
Wow thanks so much for your very kind words and thoughtful comment.
Yeah I need to close my eyes to properly get into the flow of the song, it really helps alot.
So you play guitar to? Will we hear you play and sing here on hive?
The Hive open mic community is very supportive of all levels of talent, its a good training ground :).
This week I played a song about Spring time for the open mic.
OMG! !LUV it! This was just what I needed after a slow morning and a rushed afternoon at work 😍 Thank you for that 😊 I really had the impulse to give a reward for your sharing so I sent in the way I think it's most advantageous to you (I don't yet understand fully all the reward system for authors on Hive 🙈)
I wouldn't bet on it 😆 I confess I lack the courage to go for it. Long story short - I'm very shy regarding singing and playing for others. Singing is worst because I really freeze and can't control my breathing, so every note comes out really scratched. Also I'm really not good nor I know technical/musical theory at either, so I hardly think anyone would enjoy it 😂😂😂
But I've been feeling so free to share here on Hive, and the feedback is always kind and supportive that... Who knows? Maybe one day 🙈
Looking foward to hear your next #ttt 🤗
You rock man.
Keep this beautiful charisma up🤩
Haha :) thanks so much man I appreciate the kind words!
Yeah pal.
Cheers ❤

Ah man, worth waiting for! I had a busy week, so only got around to listening to this now. Quality song choices and you did them great justice. The music is class and the chatting and history that you bring in as well is just fantastic and very engaging. I now really want to go and look up that Dylan documentary! You were right that I haven't heard of the tunes you picked, except for It's all over now Baby Blue which is a favourite of mine.
