The first time I listened to Khalid's song I was still in high school and let me be honest he felt just like every other artist bound to hog the spotlight of popularity for a while before falling off hard but he proved me wrong with a series of bangers and a strong fan base glued to his every word.
Listening to silence awoke something in me, I can't even say for certain if it is the revolutionary in me or a heightened sense of awareness but one thing was sure, I loved it. The way the song starts things off with a heart wrecking message which explains how he would rather be a lover than fighter because of how long he has been fighting just had my emotions all over the place. I wanted to do better, I wanted to be better not just for myself but for those closest to me as well. There is literally no way you'll listen to this song from start to finish that it won't reform your mindset even if it's just for a few minutes unless you are tone deaf.
Silence is an awakening, a cry to get up and do better, to be the change you want as staying hush hush constantly won't do any good just a repeated cycle that spans on for decades and generations.. I hope it influences you all positively just like it did me because in the end the only thing we've got is each other
