Hey everyone! I'm back today with another video — this time some free jazz keyboard improvisation. I'm enjoying getting back into playing and spontaneous exploration is my favorite way to play — just shutting off the mind and attempting to break out of preconceived assumptions about harmony. I find it really helpful to record and listen back to my playing as I can isolate any parts that were interesting, perhaps hinting at a novel pattern, and go back and replicate it and develop it further.
The main purpose is relaxation, enjoyment and experimentation — and if it ends up sounding halfway decent, well, that's a bonus. I paired this session with a recording of ambient water kindly provided by the user Kernowrules at freesound.org. I hope you enjoy this improv session and have a great day!

It seems like every time you touch the low "F" key you change your mind and go into something new. It's like you are happy with C and D but run away from F. I wouldn't have noticed if I was just listening and not watching.
My favorite part is around 3:30 where you play chord arpeggios and then 6:20 with a little ragtime feeling. I guess I like happy, but when I sit down at the piano I mostly get angry and sad coming out of the keys. Somehow that makes me feel happy.
Very soon we will bring good news to all the musicians on this platform. Follow us so you don't miss anything!
Awesome 11 minutes...! Great performance!
