Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi experiencia como director musical; para quienes no me conocen, desde hace varios años he trabajado como Vocal coach y cantante, he tenido la oportunidad de trabajar como coach para varios artistas de mi país y la verdad es que ha sido una gran experiencia, al igual que lo es trabajar como cantante junto a mi esposa en el dúo que conformamos con la finalidad de llevar buena música a cualquier clase de eventos.
Pero jamas había trabajado como director musical; si había cantado en grupos donde pude aprender el rol y el papel que un director musical lleva a cabo, y debo decirles que es una tarea un poco complicada y que demanda mucha responsabilidad y criterio, sin embargo, el video que verán a continuación es de un ensayo junto a una banda de una iglesia, donde tuve el gusto y el placer de desempeñarme como director musical y pianista.
Today I want to share with you my experience as a musical director; For those who do not know me, for several years I have worked as a vocal coach and singer, I have had the opportunity to work as a coach for various artists from my country and the truth is that it has been a great experience, as is working as a singer with my wife in the duo that we formed in order to bring good music to any kind of event.
But he had never worked as a music director; If I had sung in groups where I could learn the role and the role that a musical director carries out, and I must tell you that it is a somewhat complicated task and that it demands a lot of responsibility and judgment, however, the video that you will see below is of a rehearsal with a church band, where I had the pleasure and pleasure of serving as musical director and pianist.
Les cuento que fue un poco complicado porque no estoy acostumbrado a tocar y dirigir una banda completa, además que no conocía a ninguno de los musicos, desconocía su lenguaje y su forma de tocar, sin embargo trate de que las cosas salieran de la mejor manera posible.
Gracias a esta experiencia pude vivir en carne propia la responsabilidad que un director música lleva sobre sus hombros a la hora que una banda entra en escena y hace su presentación, considero que lo más importante sin lugar a dudas es el tiempo en el ensayo, donde como director tuve que ser la voz de mando a la hora de hacer correcciones, coordinar la estructura de la canción, aclarar acordes y melodías.
I tell you that it was a bit complicated because I am not used to playing and directing a complete band, besides that I did not know any of the musicians, I did not know their language and their way of playing, however I tried to make things go the best way possible.
Thanks to this experience I was able to live firsthand the responsibility that a music director carries on his shoulders when a band enters the scene and makes its presentation, I consider that the most important thing without a doubt is the time in rehearsal, where As a director, I had to be the command voice when making corrections, coordinating the structure of the song, clarifying chords and melodies.
Este tipo de trabajo no suelo llevarlo a cabo dentro de mi carrera, pero algo que si aprendí es que hay que tener mucha templanza y amor por los compañeros de equipo, de tal manera que el ambiente antes y durante de la presentación sea el más óptimo y la actuación pueda salir de la mejor manera.
Creo que me falta mucho por aprender de musicos que si se dedican a la dirección musical, sin embargo puse todo mi empeño para que todo fluyera bien.
This type of work is not usually carried out within my career, but something that I did learn is that you have to have a lot of temperance and love for teammates, so that the environment before and during the presentation is the most optimal and the performance can come out in the best way.
I thought that I still have a lot to learn from musicians who are dedicated to conducting music, however I put in all my effort so that everything flowed well.
