Seré honesto, yo no soy muy fanático de la música feliz. Generalmente suelo ponerme de buen humor escuchando música pacífica en vez de escuchar canciones que me pongan eufórico o me den ganas de divertirme. Exceptuando algunos géneros, no soy de escuchar música feliz. Si no estoy escuchando música feliz, estoy escuchando música para bailar. Pero me he dado cuenta de que algunas de las canciones que de mejor ánimo me ponen, son radicalmente diferentes en su naturaleza. Por eso, quiero hablar sobre algunas canciones que siempre me sirven para ponerme de mejor humor, pero haciendo un pequeño juego y es que cada canción va a ser radicalmente diferente de la anterior.
I'll be honest, I'm not a big fan of happy music. I generally tend to get in a good mood listening to peaceful music rather than listening to songs that make me euphoric or make me want to have fun. Except for a few genres, I'm not one to listen to happy music. If I'm not listening to happy music, I'm listening to dance music. But I've found that some of the songs that put me in the best mood are radically different in nature. So, I want to talk about some songs that always put me in a better mood, but with a little game that each song is going to be radically different from the last.
No puedo no hablar de Ichiko Aoba si se trata de música que me hace sentir bien. No por nada es mi artista favorita y es la cantante con más poder sobre mí. Es imposible escuchar su dulcísima voz y el sonido de las cuerdas de su guitarra sonando delicadamente y no caer en un trance pacífico y feliz. En el caso de ella, Ichiko es una artista cuya mayoría de canciones son bastante lentas. Pero en el caso de esta, la cual se titula "Ikinokori Bokura", es una canción con un sonido bastante juguetón y cantarín.
I can't not talk about Ichiko Aoba if it's about music that makes me feel good. Not for nothing is she my favorite artist and the singer with the most power over me. It's impossible to listen to her sweet voice and the sound of her guitar strings playing delicately and not fall into a peaceful and happy trance. In her case, Ichiko is an artist whose most songs are quite slow. But in the case of this one, which is titled "Ikinokori Bokura," it is a song with a rather playful and sing-songy sound.
Ichiko Aoba es una artista japonesa, dedicada al folk y a una fórmula musical sumamente humilde. Su propuesta artística está conformada por la sencillez de su voz y su guitarra. Precisamente por este estilo tan modesto y pacífico, su música termina siendo una galería de tonadas sumamente delicadas y que se sienten como canciones de cuna. Ichiko se dedica en sus letras comúnmente a hablar sobre amor o contar pequeñas historias. En el caso de Ikinokori Bokura, es una historia y su letra también es bastante motivadora. La canción que está adjunta en este post, es una versión corta (la versión original dura 7min). Me encuentro a veces cantándola en cualquier momento de mi rutina, tal vez en el transporte o mientras hago cualquier cosa cotidiana. Ikinokori Bokura es una canción que llevo muy cerca de mi corazón y siempre me mantiene contento, me resulta imposible escucharla y no ponerme contento mientras escucho a Ichiko tararear con su dulce voz.
Ichiko Aoba is a Japanese artist, dedicated to folk and an extremely humble musical formula. Her artistic proposal is shaped by the simplicity of her voice and her guitar. Precisely because of this modest and peaceful style, her music ends up being a gallery of extremely delicate tunes that feel like lullabies. Ichiko's lyrics are usually dedicated to talk about love or tell little stories. In the case of Ikinokori Bokura, it is a story and her lyrics are also quite motivational. The song that is attached in this post, is a short version (the original version lasts 7min). I find myself sometimes singing it at any time in my routine, maybe in transportation or while doing any daily thing. Ikinokori Bokura is a song that I hold very close to my heart and it always keeps me happy, I find it impossible to listen to it and not get happy while listening to Ichiko humming with her sweet voice.
En oposición a la artista anterior, los de Kero Kero Bonito son unos expertos en la música optimista y feliz. Son una agrupación británica con una vocalista japonesa, los cuales se coronaron en el mundo de la música actual gracias a las canciones de su primer mixtape "Intro Bonito", en el cual hay muchas canciones pequeñas y dulces de pop, con melodías sumamente juguetonas e infantiles. Estas canciones empatizaron con gran parte de la juventud actual y comenzaron a volverse virales en diversas redes sociales. Aunque Kero Kero Bonito ha tenido una gran evolución y hoy día están bastante lejos de ese sonido infantil, en su momento, lanzaron un disco titulado "Bonito Generation" el cual evolucionó al máximo este sonido tan divertido.
In opposition to the previous artist, Kero Kero Bonito are experts in upbeat and happy music. They are a British group with a Japanese vocalist, which were crowned in the current music world thanks to the songs of their first mixtape "Intro Bonito", in which there are many small and sweet pop songs, with extremely playful and childish melodies. These songs empathized with much of today's youth and began to go viral on various social networks. Although Kero Kero Bonito has had a great evolution and today they are quite far from that childish sound, at the time, they released an album titled "Bonito Generation" which evolved to the maximum this fun sound.
En el caso de esta canción, titulada "Break", es una canción de Synth-pop sumamente simpática que habla sobre la necesidad que todos tenemos de darnos un descanso de vez en cuando de todo el estrés de nuestro día a día. Sarah Bonito, la vocalista del grupo, tiene una forma de cantar sumamente dulce y una voz que parece casi de una niña. Esto dota de una dulzura enorme a la música, además, Sarah tiene la tendencia a rapear en japonés intercaladamente en sus canciones, lo cual convierte a Break en una canción todavía más simpática y divertida en general. Break es la canción perfecta para cuando hastenido un día estresante y quieres recordarte a ti mismo que está bien echarse un descanso de vez en cuando, todo patrocinado por la hermosa voz de Sarah y un beat que te hará bailar mientras caminas.
In the case of this song, titled "Break", it is an extremely nice synth-pop song that talks about the need we all have to give ourselves a break from time to time from all the stress of our day to day life. Sarah Bonito, the vocalist of the group, has an extremely sweet way of singing and a voice that sounds almost like a child's. This gives it a sweetness and a softness that makes the song a very special one. This lends an enormous sweetness to the music, plus Sarah has a tendency to rap in Japanese interspersed throughout her songs, which makes Break an even more relatable and fun song overall. Break is the perfect song for when you've had a stressful day and want to remind yourself that it's okay to take a break once in a while, all backed by Sarah's beautiful voice and a beat that will make you dance while you walk.
Hubiese creído que era un chiste si alguien en el pasado me hubiera dicho que alguna vez iba a escribir extensamente sobre "Coronao Now". Esto es un caso sumamente singular y un tipo de música con el que me he reconciliado apenas en los últimos meses. "Coronao Now" es un hit enorme y una de las canciones más populares que existen del género del Dembow, siendo también una de las colaboraciones más interesantes y extrañas de la música en general. Algunas de las figuras más relevantes del reggaeton actual, un trapper sumamente popular y un actor que nadie imaginaba haciendo música y mucho menos en este género: Vin Diesel. Todo auspiciado por el rey del dembow: El Alfa. Esta canción es extremadamente ridícula y definitivamente no es para todos los gustos, está llena de vulgaridades y su espíritu en general parece una especie de chiste de alto presupuesto. Pero es innegable lo increíblemente divertida que puede ser esta canción, no solo por su naturaleza misma, si no que su mera existencia es algo divertido de ver.
I would have thought it was a joke if someone in the past had told me that I would ever write extensively about "Coronao Now". This is an extremely unique case and a type of music that I have only reconciled myself to in the last few months. "Coronao Now" is a huge hit and one of the most popular songs that exists in the Dembow genre, being also one of the most interesting and strange collaborations in music in general. Some of the most relevant figures of the current reggaeton, an extremely popular trapper and an actor that nobody imagined doing music, much less in this genre: Vin Diesel. All sponsored by the king of dembow: El Alfa. This song is extremely ridiculous and definitely not for all tastes, it's full of vulgarities and its overall spirit seems like some kind of high-budget joke. But it's undeniable how incredibly funny this song can be, not only because of its very nature, but its very existence is kind of fun to watch.
Para mí, durante mucho tiempo, fue difícil admitir el disfrute que obtenía y obtengo de este tipo de música. Hay mucho odio dirigido hacia estos géneros, mucha gente los tacha de misóginos o vulgares y puede que tengan algo de razón, el asunto es que yo no bebo de motivaciones cuando se trata de la música. A mí solo me importa cómo me hagan sentir y en el caso de canciones como esta, solo pienso en la euforia que sientes cuando estás en una fiesta con amigos y están todos sencillamente disfrutando el momento y tonteando por aquí y por allá. Porque de algún modo, la vulgaridad es una especie de escape, una especie de catarsis. Es mi forma de verlo y en el caso de esta increíble canción, Coronao Now (Remix) con sus versos tontos y su poderosísimo beat, me tienen bailando desde el inicio hasta el último segundo de la canción.
For me, for a long time, it was hard to admit the enjoyment I did and do get from this kind of music. There is a lot of hate directed towards these genres, a lot of people label them as misogynistic or vulgar and they may be somewhat right, the thing is, I don't drink from motivations when it comes to music. I only care about how they make me feel and in the case of songs like this, I just think of the euphoria you feel when you're at a party with friends and they're all just enjoying the moment and fooling around here and there. Because in a way, vulgarity is a kind of escape, a kind of catharsis. That's my way of looking at it and in the case of this amazing song, Coronao Now (Remix) with its silly verses and powerful beat, it has me dancing from the beginning to the last second of the song.
