Hello, Hive! One of my biggest hobbies is listening to music, i'm constantly listening to albums while doing any other daily activity. I'm an active album consumer, you could say i'm kind of addicted to it. Therefore, I was actively listening to as many new records as I could during the past year. So, now I will show you my top 10 albums of 2020, hoping you could find new music that you will love or, at least, find interesting. I will be describing a little bit about every album, then showing my favorite song of each one. Let's go!

¡Hola, Hive! Una de mis más grandes aficiones es escuchar música, estoy constantemente escuchando discos durante la mayoría de mis actividades cotidianas. Soy un consumidor activo de discos y podría denominárseme como un melómano. Por ello, estuve activamente escuchando todos los estrenos que pude durante el año pasado. Así que acá les traigo una lista de mis 10 favoritos del 2020, entre los que, espero, puedan descubrir música nueva que tal vez les encante o como mínimo les resulte interesante. Estaré haciendo una descripción corta del álbum y posteriormente mostrando mi canción favorita de cada uno, sin más. ¡Vamos allá!
10. "Set My Heart On Fire Immediately" - Perfume Genius
In this record, Hadreas has the production at his strongest point, led by the hand of Blake Mills, who puts Hadreas to dance with his interpretations in a mixture of genres that somehow doesn't lose the particular sound of Mike Hadreas.

9. "Fetch The Bolt Cutters" - Fiona Apple
Fiona Apple is an american singer-songwriter born in Manhattan. Characterized by her particular sound that mixes pop with a twist of Cabaret and Piano Rock. It's a well loved artist and her albums represent a big event, since this elusive songwriter normally takes big time gaps between every record she releases. Fetch The Bolt Cutters is her first record since 8 years of silence. And in 2020, she brings this album filled with her most raw, intimate and even socio-political lyrics ever.
Fiona Apple es una cantautora estadounidense nacida en Manhattan. Caracterizada por su particular sonido que mezcla el pop con toques de Cabaret y Piano Rock. Es una artista sumamente querida y sus discos representan un acontecimiento, ya que esta huidiza cantautora suele tomarse espacios de tiempo muy prolongados entre disco y disco. Fetch The Bolt Cutters es su primer disco en 8 años de silencio. Y este 2020, nos trae este álbum con sus letras más crudas, cargadas de intimidad e incluso crítica socio-política.
Fiona, in this album, delivers her most agressive and visceral performances, sometimes, it can even sound uncomfortable, but this is just part of the concept and rawness that the record wants to achieve. In part, it's because of this, of how deeply personal the lyrical content is, the reason why this album is my favorite album from her.
Fiona, en este disco, trae sus interpretraciones más agresivas y viscerales, en ocasiones, su sonido puede resultar incómodo, pero esto es parte del concepto y de la crudeza que este disco quiere llevar a cabo. En parte es, debido a ello, a lo profundamente personal que es el contenido lírico, por el que este disco logra ser mi favorito de su autoría.

8. "Inner Song" - Kelly Lee Owens
Kelly Lee Owens is a singer and producer born in Rhuddian, United Kingdom. Her music spins around an interesting mixture of Art Pop with an electronic production oriented to Tech House and Ambient. Creating a hybrid of the genre that resembles more to the cold, rhythmic and mechanical sounds of these genres than other artist who focus their electronic production on creating a more organic sound, while Kelly searches for a mechanical sound without leaving her emotional performances.
Kelly Lee Owens es una cantante y productora nacida en Rhuddian, Reino Unido, cuya música gira en torno a una interesante mezcla entre el género del Art Pop mezclado con una producción electrónica orientada hacia el Tech House y el Ambient. Creando un híbrido del género que se asemeja más a los sonidos fríos, rítmicos y mecánicos de estos géneros que al sonido de otros artistas cuya producción electrónica intenta hacer su sonido más orgánico, mientras que Kelly busca un sonido mecánico sin dejar de tener interpretaciones sentimentales.
Kelly creates a set of tracks in this album that goes from melodic experimentations, through atmospheric and emotional songs, to energetic songs filled with rhythm, being perfect for a rave party.
Kelly crea un conjunto de canciones en este disco que van desde experimentaciones melódicas, pasando por canciones atmosféricas y emocionales, hasta canciones enérgicas llenas de ritmo, perfectas para una discoteca.

7. "Feel Feelings" - Soko
Soko is a french singer-songwriter born in Bordeaux. A very melancholic artist focused on the Contemporary Folk and Indie Pop genres. Well known by her strongly emotional songs and her irreverent personality, Soko premieres this new record where the titles announces more of the emotional material that the fans love so much.
Soko es una cantautora francesa nacida en Bordeaux. Una artista muy melancólica centrada en el género del Contemporary Folk y el Indie Pop. Conocida por sus canciones fuertemente emocionales y su personalidad irreverente, Soko estrena este nuevo disco donde el título nos anuncia que tendremos más de lo que tanto le gusta a los seguidores de esta artista.
Soko usually has a melancholic sound in her records, but she doesn't spare on having one or another hypnotic and relaxing song to cease the common emotional storm on her records. This album is not the exception and she excels on her habitual performances.

6. "Gift At Sogetsu Hall" - Ichiko Aoba
Ichiko Aoba is a singer-songwriter born in Urayasu, Japan. Gifted with an enormous vocal talent, her music can only be described as pacific, ethereal and delicate. It's my favorite artist of all time and he music makes me find a kind of peace i've never found in any other artist music. Her interpretations are commonly consisting of just her voice and her guitar, her music is humble and very minimalistic, but filled with a great sweetness and peace.
Ichiko Aoba es una cantautora nacida en Urayasu, Japón. Dotada de un enorme talento vocal, su música solo puede ser descrita como pacífica, etérea y delicada. Es mi artista favorita de todos los tiempos y su música me hace encontrar una paz que no he conseguido en la música de ningún otro artista. Sus interpretaciones comúnmente solo consisten en su voz y su guitarra, su música es humilde y muy minimalista, pero llena de una dulzura y paz increíbles.
In this album, Ichiko performs some of her most popular and not so popular songs, having some new songs on the record, everything recorded on her concert "gift", whick took place on the Sogetsu Hall of Tokyo.
En este disco, Ichiko interpreta varias de sus canciones más populares y no tan populares, contando con el estreno de algunos temas nuevos, todo grabado en su concierto "gift" realizado en el Sogetsu Hall de Tokyo.

5. "Microphones in 2020" - The Microphones
The Microphones is an american Indie Folk and derivate genres proyect created by Phil Elverum, a singer-songwriter from Olympia whose career has been quite prolific, leading not only The Microphones project, but his main project, called "Mount Eerie", in which he has most of his albums. In 2020, Phil, by unknown motivations, decided to release this album under the Microphones name, which had almost 17 years without a proper new album (except for a bonus disc released as an accompaniment to one of their classic albums: The Glow Pt. 2 Disc Two).
The Microphones es un proyecto estadounidense de Indie Folk y géneros derivados creado por Phil Elverum, un cantautor de Olympia cuya carrera ha sido bastante prolífica, llevando no solo el proyecto de The Microphones, si no su proyecto principal, llamado "Mount Eerie", en el cual tiene la mayoría de sus discos. En el 2020, Phil, por motivos desconocidos, decidió lanzar este disco bajo el nombre de The Microphones, el cual tenía casi 17 años sin estrenar ningún nuevo disco en toda regla (exceptuando un disco extra como acompañamiento de uno de sus álbumes clásicos: The Glow Pt. 2 Disc Two)
Phil delivers this curious one-song album, in a constant flow of melancholy, he gives us a ride to his past and through the creation of the Microphones project. His way of narrating and the repetitive melody of the album are quite unique and the melancholy that this album has in its sound is very different, and this is because of the concept and constant rejection to the nostalgia feelings despite telling stories from the past that would work so well for this purpose. But, by the same token, it is amazing what this album achieves using a single 44min composition and with such a concept.
Phil trae este curioso disco de una sola canción, en un flujo constante de melancolía, nos da un recorrido por su pasado y la creación del proyecto de The Microphones. Su forma de narrar y la melodía repetitiva del disco son bastante singulares y la melancolía que este disco tiene en su sonido, es diferente, al rechazar el concepto de la nostalgia a pesar de estar contando historias del pasado que tan bien funcionarían para este propósito. Pero, por lo mismo, es increíble lo que este disco logra utilizando una sola composición de 44min y utilizando semejante concepto.

4. "Calambre" - Nathy Peluso
Nathy Peluso, is a singer born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She's been a very popular figure in the past two years. Her songs have been playing everywhere and her way to stardom has been quickly ascending in the past few months. And no wonder, because she has an extremely strong personality and enormous charisma. Her performances are full of energy, attitude, sexuality and toughness, becoming an icon of empowerment and style.
Nathy Peluso, cantante nacida en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Ha sido una figura de gran popularidad durante los últimos dos años. Sus canciones han estado en todas partes y su camino al estrellato ha ido en ascenso durante los últimos meses. Y no es para menos, pues Nathy posee una personalidad sumamente fuerte y un carisma enormes. Sus interpretaciones están llenas de energía, feminidad, actitud, sexualidad y rudeza, volviéndose un ícono de empoderamiento y estilo.
"Calambre" is her best worked album so far. Her performances, her lyrics and her strong and fun personality make the album a very fun listen. Nathy has no barriers, so we will listen to her performing songs of Pop, Hip Hop, R&B and even Salsa and a kind of tango.
"Calambre" es su disco mejor trabajado hasta el momento. Sus performances, sus letras y su carácter fuerte y divertido hace que el disco sea una escuchada sumamente divertida. Nathy no tiene barreras y la escucharemos interpretando canciones de Pop, Hip Hop, R&B y hasta salsa y una suerte de tango.

3. "Songs" - Adrianne Lenker
Adrianne Lenker is a singer-songwriter from Indianapoles, United States. Main vocalist of the Indie Rock band "Big Thief". Adrianne is a very romantic and sweet artist, her solo music focuses always had a melancholic and very emotional type of sound, focusing in themes of love. In 2020, she released two albums: "Songs" and "Instrumentals", which are her best works to date.
Adrianne Lenker es una cantautora de Indianapolis, Estados Unidos. Vocalista de la banda de Indie Rock "Big Thief". Adrianne es una artista de tintes muy románticos y dulces, su música como solista siempre ha tenido un sonido melancólico y muy sentimental comúnmente enfocado en temas de amor. En 2020, lanzó una dupla de discos: "Songs" e "Instrumentals", los cuales son sus obras mejor logradas hasta ahora.
In "Songs", Adrianne shows some of her most heartfelt and strong vocals and melodies. With very personal lyrics and an incredible performance, Adrianne consecrates her style as a singer-songwriter and takes her sentimental sound to a new level, bringing her listeners to tears.
En "Songs", Adrianne muestra algunas de sus melodías e interpretaciones vocales más sentidas y fuertes. Con letras muy personales e interpretaciones increíbles, Adrianne consagra su estilo como cantautora y lleva su sonido sentimental a un nuevo nivel para poner a llorar a sus oyentes.

2. "How I'm Feeling Now" - Charli XCX
Charli XCX is a pop singer born in Cambridge, United Kingdom. Since the beggining of the 2010 decade, she became a major relevance figure in the pop scene and, by the midst of this decade, she started experimenting with the sound of Bubblegum Bass, an electronic genre focused on using very high-pitched sounds and exaggerating a feminine sound aesthetic, creating a very hyperactive and pink sound.
Charli XCX es una cantante de Pop nacida en Cambridge, Reino Unido. Desde inicios de la década del 2010, se volvió una figura de relevancia para el mundo del Pop y, a mediados de la década, comenzó a experimentar con el sonido del Bubblegum Bass, un género electrónico concentrado en utilizar sonidos muy agudos y exagerar una estética sonora femenina, creando un sonido pop muy hiperactivo y rosado.
"How I'm Feeling Now" is her latest record and a work with an excellent production, breaking her record, Charli XCX with the help of producers like A.G. Cook and Dylan Brady from "100 Gecs", made this album in a month. An album that portrays the feelings of confinement and the need for freedom during the quarantine, Charli creates songs where she shows her frustration because of this world pandemic situation. Charli gives us this great album that will make you dance and cry at the same time. An album in which a lot of people can reflect themselves.
"How I'm Feeling Now" es su disco más reciente y un trabajo con una producción excelente, hecho en tiempo récord, Charli XCX contando con la ayuda de productores como A.G. Cook y Dylan Brady de "100 Gecs", hizo este disco en un mes. Un álbum que retrata la sensaciones de encierro y necesidad de libertad durante cuarentena, Charli crea canciones donde revela su frustración por esta situación de pandemia mundial. Charli nos regala este gran disco en el que nos te querrá hacer bailar y llorar a la vez. Un álbum con el que muchos pueden reflejarse.

1. "Adan no Kaze" - Ichiko Aoba
Ichiko appears again in this list, this time taking the crown. There's too many things I could say about Ichiko and this album, but I'll limit myself to saying that "Adan no Kaze" is her most impressive work to date (but not my favorite). This album incorporates a series of instruments had not worked with in studio albums. Her sound, usually minimalistic, doesn't change with the incorporation of these instruments, although she creates very ethereal and fantastical soundscapes, she doesn't abandon her distinctive delicacy, but she does fill our ears at times with incredible orchestral arrangements.
Ichiko vuelve a aparecer en esta lista, esta vez llevándose la corona. Hay demasiadas cosas que podría decir de Ichiko y de este disco, pero me limitaré a decir que "Adan no Kaze" es su trabajo más impresionante hasta el momento (pero no mi favorito). Este disco incorpora una serie de instrumentos con los que Ichiko no había trabajado en álbumes de estudio, su sonido, habitualmente minimalista, no cambia con la incorporación de estos instrumentos, si bien crea paisajes sonoros muy etéreos y fantasiosos, no abandona su distintiva delicadeza, pero sí llena en ocasiones nuestros oídos con arreglos orquestales increíbles.
Listening to this album resembles to a dream. Its music transport us to a world filled with living nature, creating a beautiful ecosystem full of life and peace. Sometimes, the music becames nostalgic, Ichiko invades our hearts with these feelings and takes us to float in a sacred sea to purify our souls with her melodies. Because of these reasons and much more, this is my favorite 2020 album.
Escuchar este disco se asemeja a un sueño. Su música nos transporta a un mundo lleno de naturaleza viva, crea un ecosistema hermoso lleno de vida y paz. En ocasiones, la música se torna nostálgica, Ichiko invade nuestros corazones con estos sentimientos y nos lleva a flotar en un mar sagrado para purificar nuestras almas con sus melodías. Por estas razones y muchas más, este disco es mi favorito del 2020.
