Many things for every one of us can mean small or big achievements in our life in general, for some people it can be the money part, love, etc. For me, something that I evaluate in it is above all the experiences that we can have and just this was what I thought before buying the tickets for the festival that I will tell you about next, more than two years ago just before the pandemic began and countless events were canceled or postponed including this one.
The Sunset Roll Fest, a festival held in Venezuela specifically in Anzoategui for several years focuses most of its lineup on bringing national artists, although they are not pigeonholed only in that. This festival seeks a more beach theme than anything else and like any festival brings a diversity of artists in many genres, usually takes place over two days, especially in times of Easter and each day has a duration of approximately 12 hours between intro, artists, and breaks.
I bought my ticket way back in December 2019 after seeing the lineup that brought several artists I've been listening to since I was a kid, but unfortunately, you know the pandemic happened and it had to be postponed. I had never been to a concert in my life so the idea intimidated me, but I saw it as an experience that would allow me not only to listen to them on Spotify but also to see them and see how they are on stage, and the truth is that it's a brutal feeling.
In the beginning, the departure was quite chaotic, usually, there is always nervousness in general, what to wear, what you will do, how you will leave, etc. Fortunately, I went with a group of friends as I mentioned with whom I enjoyed every moment. We had to move in buses put by the festival and it was a good trip all the way, surprisingly I met many people from other states, especially from Caracas and as a curious fact I saw later 40% of the people who were at the festival didn't reside in Anzoategui (the area where it was made), pretty cool.
Throughout the festival, there were different stalls with an infinite number of things, food, clothes, drinks, games, bazaars, etc. Something quite entertaining that adds to this since it is not only the concert but also the surroundings. This was also quite entertaining since there were moments where for example I was buying food and I could play Jenga or a bearpong match in another staff since standing there for 12 hours was something that my feet couldn't stand all the time lol.
The concert time is perhaps one of the best things, the diversity is the best thing about these festivals, this is where you appreciate the different types of music and it's where you can get a feel for bands you may not have heard of. Viniloversus was one of my favorites and La Vida Boheme was another one that I thought was crazy especially singing Radio Capital who appears on FIFA plus Akapellah and Lil Supa as 'Funky Fresco' who are some of my favorite artists since I'm a rap lover.
I also got to see amazing local bands, I've never been much into Rock & Roll for example, but I enjoyed every band's performance. Also the lo-fi, trap or R&B with local bands from a label called Piso 8 was something that was also very entertaining in itself, Heavy Rock and the artists going on stage when they went crazy was something else that even got people on stage which added a lot of value to the presentations without a doubt.
Speaking of the previous topic, there was something quite epic in one of the presentations that I liked the most which were that of the band Okills in which there was a marriage proposal (yes, just as you read it), a marriage proposal in the middle of the presentation. And it turns out that everything was something consensual from the first moment since the guy had written on Instagram in advance to the band to carry this out and the band read the text and wanted to cooperate with it.
It turns out that before a specific quite romantic song all happened, they made a special call in which they invited the girl on stage for it. The boy specified that he had dedicated this song to her several times and they were very fond of the band, so it was fair and necessary that if he proposed to her it would be with that song, something quite nice and that the whole audience was quite moved.

The part about the scenography was another thing that I thought was crazy, as you saw in all the photos that I have been putting I think the part about the design of the screens was something that I loved without a doubt. There was a big screen in the back and rotating screens in circles in the most something that made a game with each song that was played, in most cases there used to be respective visualizers of each song, and certainly made the experience much more beautiful.
Also, the fire, smoke curtains, and parts of lights that were synchronized following each song or each part were beautiful. I think one of the best things about the concert and as you will see in each photo they made a perfect harmony so that every one of the presentations was epic, I will not lie that I did not see all of them, I was late for some, but I was able to witness most of them and especially all my favorite artists and that was certainly the best and made every penny worth it.
Anyway, this was my experience at this festival, would I repeat it? A thousand times, I think it is one of the best things you can spend your money on along with traveling and without a doubt, this experience of festivals and concerts, in general, is real madness. I know that in the future if I have the chance to attend more festivals I will, I hope to be present in many more like Coachella or an EDM festivals, that would be sick for sure. Muchas cosas para todos y cada uno de nosotros pueden significar pequeños o grandes logros en nuestra vida en general, para algunos puede ser la parte monetaria, el amor, etc. Para mi algo que evalúo en ello es sobre todo las experiencias y vivencias que podamos tener y justo esto fue lo que pensé antes de comprar las entradas para el festival del que les hablaré a continuación, hace más de dos años justo antes de que comenzara la pandemia y se cancelaran infinidades de eventos.
El Sunset Roll Fest, un festival llevado a cabo en Venezuela específicamente en Anzoátegui durante varios años que centra la mayoría de su cartel en traer artistas nacionales, aunque tampoco se encasillan sólo en eso. Este festival busca una temática más playera que nada y como todo festival trae diversidad de artistas en muchísimos géneros, suele hacerse durante dos días especialmente en épocas de semana santa y cada día tiene una duración de aproximadamente 12 horas entre todo.
Yo compré mi entrada hace bastante, en diciembre de 2019 luego de ver el cartel que traía a varios artistas que llevo escuchando desde pequeño, pero lamentablemente ya saben que ocurrió la pandemia y se tuvo que posponer. Nunca había ido a un concierto en mi vida por lo que la idea me intimidaba, pero lo vi como una experiencia en la que me permitiese no sólo escucharlos por Spotify si no también poder verlos y ver como son en tarima, y la verdad es que es algo brutal.
Al principio la ida fue bastante caótica, por lo general siempre suele estar el nerviosismo en general, de qué ponerte, que harás, como te irás, etc. Afortunadamente fui con un grupo de amigos como mencioné con los cuales disfruté en todo momento. Nos teníamos que trasladar en autobuses puestos por el festival y fue un buen trip en todo el camino, sorprendentemente me encontré mucha gente de otros estados, sobre todo de Caracas y como dato curioso que vi luego el 40% de las personas que había en el festival no residían en Anzoátegui, algo bastante cool.
A lo largo del festival había diferentes puestos de infinidades de cosas, comida, ropa, bebida, juegos, bazares, etc. Algo bastante entretenido que da un agregado a esto ya que no sólo es el concierto si no también sus alrededores. Esto también fue bastante entretenido ya que hubo momentos donde por ejemplo me compraba comida y podía jugar Jenga en otro staff ya que estar parado ahí durante 12 horas era algo que mis pies no aguantaban todo el tiempo lol.
El momento del concierto es quizás de las mejores cosas, la diversidad es lo mejor de estos festivales, aquí es donde aprecias los distintos tipos de música y es donde puedes dar idea de bandas que quizás no habías escuchado. Viniloversus fue una de mis favoritas y La Vida Boheme fue otra que me pareció una locura sobre todo cantando Radio Capital que aparece en FIFA además de Akapellah y Lil Supa como Funky Fresco que son de mis artistas favoritos ya que me gusta el rap.
También pude ver bandas locales increíbles, nunca he sido de mucho Rock & Roll, por ejemplo, pero me disfruté cada presentación de las bandas. También él lo-fi, trap o R&B con grupos locales de una disquera llamada Piso 8 fue algo que también estuvo muy entretenido en sí, Rock pesado y las idas al escenario de artistas cuando se volvían locos era otra cosa que hasta incluso llegaron a subir gente al escenario que agrego muchísimo valor a las presentaciones sin duda.
Hablando del tema anterior, hubo algo bastante épico en una de las presentaciones que más me gustaron que fue la del grupo Okills en la que hubo una propuesta de matrimonio, sí, así como lo lees una propuesta de matrimonio en plena presentación. Y es que resulta que todo era algo consensuado desde el primer momento ya que el chico le había escrito en Instagram con antelación a la banda para poder llevar esto a cabo y la banda leyó el mensaje y quiso cooperar con ello.
Resulta que antes de una canción en específico bastante romántica ocurrió todo, ellos hicieron un llamado especial en el que invitaban al escenario a la chica para ello. El chico especificó que le había dedicado varias veces esta canción a ella y ellos eran muy fanáticos del grupo por lo que era justo y necesario que si le proponía matrimonio fuera con esa canción, algo bastante lindo la verdad y que a todo el público le conmovió bastante.

La parte de la escenografía fue otra cosa que me pareció una locura, como vieron en todas las fotos que les he ido poniendo creo que la parte del diseño de las pantallas fue algo que me encantó sin lugar a dudas. Había una gran pantalla en la parte trasera y pantallas giratorias en círculos en lo más algo que hacían un juego con cada canción que se ponía, en la mayoría de casos solían haber visualizers respectivos de cada canción y sin duda hacían muchísimo más bonita la experiencia.
También el fuego, cortinas de humo, partes de luces que se sincronizaban a raíz de cada canción o cada parte fueron hermosas. Creo que de las mejores cosas del concierto y como verán en cada foto hacían de una armonía perfecta para que todas y cada una de las presentaciones fueran épicas, no les mentiré que no me vi todas, llegué tarde a algunas, pero pude presenciar la mayoría y en especial a todos mis artistas favoritos y eso sin duda fue lo mejor entre todo sin duda alguna.
Pero en fin, esta fue mi experiencia en este festival, ¿Lo repetiría? Mil veces, creo que es una de las mejores cosas en las que puedes gastar tu dinero junto con viajar y sin duda esta experiencia de festivales y conciertos en general son una autentica locura. Sé que en un futuro si tengo la posibilidad de asistir a más festivales lo haré, espero estar presente en muchos más y si tengo la oportunidad poder ir a algunos de otros países como Coachella o festivales de EDM. I haven't been to a live concert or festival in quite a while. But no matter how long ago it was that vibe, the energy and feeling - it stays with you forever. I hope you get the chance to experience many more of these!
Seriously, the vibe is one of the best things without a doubt. I also hope I can make it Bee, I want to go to some Coachella someday, those events are awesome and an experience that every person should live!
