Rest of the metal music Cds

in Music4 days ago (edited)

Here I am to continue with the rest of the cd albums that I have added to my growing music collection. I was waiting for my last order to arrive to me before I could make this post, two - three days ago it did arrive and now I'm ready to proceed.

The first album to present is from the now disbanded Agalloch and their album Ashes Against The Grain originally released in 2006. Some 7 - 8 years back I visited a metal shop here in Athens with my then girlfriend and she had asked me which album I'd like to have and I saw this one and happily picked it and got it. It was a reissue and recently I saw that it has been re-released. I think I saw it in cassette format and immediately got excited and thought to myself that I must have it on cassette. Then I saw the below shown version which is Deluxe Edition Hardcover Book and ordered it together with the cassette that I plan to present in my next cassette only post.

I still haven't unsealed it, but plan to do so and dive into the book. This book contains of course two cds, one is the album and the second containing what it is being called as Bonus Fragments plus two songs from the album but in demo version from two years prior to its original release date plus another song from the album as a mix version of the song. Certainly interesting stuff, because listening to the albums one likes is one thing, diving deeper gives the opportunity to get to know better.

Anyway, moving on, next album is from the band Amorphis and their latest release so far under the title Borderland.

It's a good listen, I don't pass on this band because they have been around from the nineties and it's a special band on the basis that they're not the typical metal sounding music band, they're really good in their craft. I got this album - and the one that it's coming next - together, when me and a good friend visited a metal shop some weeks back.

And the next one is from Paradise Lost with their latest release so far under the title Ascension.

I don't have many words to share, the music speaks for itself, of course it's about personal preferences and also I have heard good reviews for this and the above albums, although besides reviews, it must be about what personally one thinks for himself and not only the reviews.

Moving on, a few cds that I have for quite some time but never posted so I'm gonna do it now. Next album is from the greek Yoth Iria and their latest album which got released last year under the title Blazing Inferno. The shown version is the Limited Edition Boxset containing two cds, one being the album and the second with two more songs one of them being a cover of the instrumental from the mighty Emperor but with added lyrics and the other song taken from a release they had released in 2023 containing two songs.

That release they had released containing two songs - one of them is being included here. I wish the other song from that two songs release would be included and can't help it but (listen below)

and the album release

So, moving on, the next album comes from the band Sear Bliss and their latest release so far under the title Heavenly Down and was released in 2024.

I have seen this band live except the time that they performed their new album this year. But they release good quality stuff and I always like to see what's next from them. The band is also rooted and started from the mid nineties when their frontman and bass player was some 16 yrs old.

The next one is coming from Trees Of Eternity and the one and only album Hour Of The Nightingale. And why? Because

Their former vocalist Aleah died from cancer on April 18th 2016, aged 39. They only published a demo in 2013.
After Aleah's passing, her partner and main composer Juha Raivio announced the release of the first full-length in November 2016.

Her partner and main composer Juha Raivio is the founder of another death-doom style band which is Swallow The Sun and was - as normally expected - devastated by the death.

And again with her I shall continue. The next album is hers - Aleah – Aleah.

Aleah is the posthumous solo album and it was completed by Raivio and producer Jaani Peuhu after her death and released in 2020.

The album contains acoustic tracks and songs that she had recorded as demos, any more info than that I'm not aware.

And I shall conclude this post with a reissue of the album The Dark Saga from the band Iced Earth that was originally released in 1996.

It's in cd version but housed in Triple 7′ Vinyl Gatefold. What can I say about this album. Legendary. It's very good in music standards and more importantly it has marked the teenage years of many. Words are not enough to describe the feelings so many people have for this album. Also it was announced that Matt Barlow - who was the frontman in this album - would make a tour this year with the band he has formed and is in now - Ashes Of Ares - and play this album in its entirety and that immediately woke up dear memories. In Athens in particular they booked two nights, I was a bit late to book tickets for me and a good friend of mine (who was more crazy than me back in the days about Iced Earth) and fortunately we could book to attend the second night. I have also recorded a song from this appearance that can be watched

Well, I have nothing more to add, kind regards and "see" you in my next post.
