Nothing. I have a Focus rite that I can plug my digital piano into to, but either the instrument input is noisy, or the output from the piano's port is poor, or my cable is shit.
I do not play everyday, I neglect my hands and the craft.

Trying to figure out what the problem is is the single most expensive thing about playing music. I bought a new interface cause I thought mine was broken only to find out it was the headphones. Hey. That could be your problem too, it’s possible focusrite makes nice interfaces and shitty headphones.
Also check the bps on the DAW, I’m not sure how it works but fiddling with that will fix some crackling or noise issues. If you cant figure out what i mean ill tell you how to do it when i get home.
Add running linux to the mix, and it complicates it even further :P My XLR mic (plugged into the same interface) is fine, however!
