Excellent choice of a person to feature on Three Tune Tuesday!
Kim Wilde was and still is very talented and beautiful. She was born into Rock N Roll royalty, daughter of Brit pop star Marty Wilde who actually co-wrote Kids In America. Here's Marty covering Dion, for those who don't know him. This is a little faster and more of a typical 60s band with guitars.
Back to Kids In America, I've always been a huge fan of the song. It's a perfect 80s New Wave dance tune and I still like to bop to it. My fave video version is from Kim and the band's appearance on Top Pop, a Dutch TV music show. The camera man kept a super tight closeup of Kim for much of the video. She is singing directly to us!
Happy Birthday to Kim! Thanks for the memories. Nice choice will all 3 videos!

Good morning, my friend!
First of all, I want to thank you for your comment and your contribution to making this publication more informative and interactive. It's very important.
Sometimes I feel that there isn't as much interaction on Hive as there could be. But I confess that I also contribute to this, as I only respond to comments on my posts and rarely comment on posts that I like...
I have to make more of an effort to interact with others.
Yes, in fact, the video you shared, the close-up shot of Kim, almost transports us to her side in a very intimate way! It seems like she's really singing to us, as you rightly pointed out.
A true anthem of the 80s. I miss hits like this nowadays. Maybe I'm not as attentive to new artists and their work as I was during my teenage years... It ends up being one of the reasons why we remain so attached to certain hits from the past!
Have a great weekend, my friend!
And thank you very much for your excellent contribution in your comment!
