We Have A Gig Tonight

Tonight we're playing a gig for Aimee's dad's 60th birthday, and it is going to be a lot of fun.

The Set List

We're going to kick off the music around 9 o'clock, and do some of the Dangerous Dave songs, which should last about 30+ minutes, and then we're going to do some cover songs.

Aimee's dad will be stepping in for the covers and will be doing about six or so songs with us.

Those songs are -

I Wanna Be Adored - Stone Roses

Fortunate Son - Creedence

Another Brick In The Wall - Pink Floyd

Zombie - The Cranberries

Jobseeker - Sleaford Mods

We may also do one or two Dangerous Dave songs with him too...

Once we've finished up the covers, her dad is going to play drums to some tracks from his own setlist, and it'll give people a chance to get up and do a bit of karaoke, and potentially play along to some of the songs too.

After that, we'll come back for another 30+ minutes of the Dangerous Dave songs, and then when we finish that up, we'll open the stage to guests to get up and do a bit of karaoke, which should be a bit of craic, and by that stage, everyone should have a bit of Dutch courage.

We're getting ready now to bring equipment over to the venue to get it prepared for the night.

I love the whole build-up to nights like this. Some people aren't really a fan of load-in, but I actually enjoy that part as much as actually playing. The thing I hate, though, is the teardown, but luckily, we're good to leave everything in the venue to pick it up tomorrow.

In fairness, though, that sounds like a great idea. But, having to lump everything around while being hungover isn't too fun, but that's future me's problem.
