Hola a todos, hoy voy a hablar sobre este álbum de Sabrina Carpenter que escuche hace poco y ahora que lo escuche estoy obsesionada con él, ya conocía a Sabrina desde hace tiempo, pero fue ahora que vine a escuchar un álbum completo de ella, usualmente solo escuchaba sus canciones más populares. Este álbum es viejo, es del 9 de noviembre del 2019, pero lo descubrí hace poco gracias a que una mutual en twitter me lo recomendó y decidí darle una oportunidad, que bueno que lo hice porque este álbum es puro fuego.

Singular Act I es un álbum súper corto, es la primera parte de su tercer álbum de estudio, tiene una duración de 25 minutos con 3 segundos y es buenísimo. La segunda parte de este álbum se llama Singular Act II, luego estaré subiendo por acá que me pareció la segunda parte.

Sabrina describió Singular Act I como su lado con más confianza en sí misma, mientras que Singular Act II es su lado más vulnerable.

This album is old, it's from November 9, 2019, but I discovered it recently thanks to a mutual on twitter recommended it to me and I decided to give it a chance, good thing I did because this album is pure fire.

Singular Act I is a super short album, it is the first part of her third studio album, it has a duration of 25 minutes with 3 seconds, and it is great. The second part of this album is called Singular Act II, I will be uploading what I thought of the second part later.

Sabrina described Singular Act I as her more confident side, while Singular Act II is her more vulnerable side.

1. Almost Love.

En esta canción Sabrina habla de relaciones casuales y cómo ella desearía que fueran algo más.

Recuerdan que dije que solo había escuchado las canciones más populares de Sabrina, pues, esta no es muy popular, pero yo la escuche días después de su lanzamiento por allá por el 2018 y a mi yo de 13/14 años no le gusto esta canción para nada, pero luego de años sin escuchar esta canción y ahora escuchándola recientemente si me termino gustando, no puedo creer que no me haya gustado en un principio.

Sabrina solía estar en Disney y Almost love fue la canción que la gente tomó como su fin a sus días de Disney. Esta canción hace un buen trabajo al presentar el sonido más maduro de Sabrina y su estilo lírico.

Favorite parts of the song: "But what's the fun in a minute? When we could push all the limits." "Almost love, it's almost love" "Almost love, but it could be love" & "I want you like a loner wants an empty room".

In this song, Sabrina talks about casual relationships and how she wishes they were something more.

Remember I said I had only listened to Sabrina's most popular songs, well, this one isn't very popular, but I listened to it days after its release back in 2018 and my 13/14-year-old self didn't like this song at all, but after years of not listening to this song and now listening to it recently if I ended up liking it, I can't believe I didn't like it at first.

Sabrina used to be on Disney, and Almost love was the song that people took as her end to her Disney days. This song does a good job of presenting Sabrina's more mature sound and lyrical style.

2. Paris.

Partes favoritas de la canción: “Las noches parisinas, las vibras parisinas y la brisa parisina me alimentan como si fueran medicina” “Es tan romántico en parís, ni siquiera intentaré compararlo” & “Tengo miedo de ponerle agua a las rosas”.

'Paris' es sobre huir de la ciudad para encontrar el amor, solo para darte cuenta que ya lo tenías.

Hace poco leí que Sabrina escribió “París” porque alguien le dijo que fuera a París para encontrar el amor, pero una vez allí se dio cuenta de que ya tenía ese amor en Los Ángeles, lo que significa que no necesitaba viajar para encontrar el amor, ella ya lo tenía desde el principio.

La canción está bien, no es mi favorita, pero tampoco es mala. Los vocals no son tan impresionantes (no son malos, Sabrina simplemente no muestra mucho rango en la mayor parte de la canción).

Favorite parts of the song: "Parisian nights, Parisian high, Parisian breeze, Feeding me like medicine" "It's so romantic in Paris, won't even try to compare" & "Scared to put the water with the roses".

Paris is about running away from the city to find love, only to realize you already had it.

I read recently that Sabrina wrote "Paris" because someone told her to go to Paris to find love, but once there she realized she already had that love in LA, meaning she didn't need to travel to find love, she already had it from the beginning.

The song is okay, not my favorite, but not bad either. The vocals aren't that impressive (they're not bad, Sabrina just doesn't show much range in most of the song).

3. Hold Tight Ft. UHMEER

Partes favoritas de la canción: “Pero me gusta donde están mis manos, solo quiero agarrarte fuerte” & “Pero estaba esperando que pudiéramos cambiar cómo estamos gastando nuestro tiempo”.

Definitivamente mi canción favorita del álbum, esta canción tiene un sonido R&B.

Los vocals del comienzo me enviaron directo al cielo, la producción y la melodía son muy buenas, eso es prácticamente todo lo que tengo que decir al respecto, simplemente amo esta canción.

Favorite parts of the song: "But I like where my hands is, I just wanna hold tight" & "But I was hoping we could switch up how we're spending our time".

Definitely my favorite song on the album, this song has an R&B sound to it.

The vocals at the beginning sent me straight to heaven, the production and melody are great, that's pretty much all I have to say about it, I just love this song.

4. Sue Me.

Partes favoritas de la canción: “Esa es mi figura, yo hice la sombra, ese es mi nombre, no lo desgastes” “Sentirme bien conmigo misma no puede ser ilegal” “Así que demándame por lucir demasiado hermosa esta noche” & “Supongo que soy difícil de ignorar, recoge tu mandíbula del suelo”.

"Sue Me" es una canción que habla de salir adelante tras dejar una relación, mostrándote con confianza y con la fuerza que siempre hubo en tu interior.

Para Sabrina, esta canción trata del empoderamiento y la confianza. "Se trata de sentirse a gusto con uno mismo, independientemente de lo que piensen los demás".

Mi segunda canción favorita del álbum, es que es buenísima Dios mío, esta canción tiene una letra divertida y unos vocals espectaculares, una de las mejores canciones de Sabrina.

Un dato curioso sobre esta canción es que Sabrina escribió “Sue Me” el mismo día que fue demandada por los ex gerentes de la música después de que ella decidió irse e ir por caminos separados, ellos nunca la apreciaron y una vez que la vieron hacer cosas y trabajar y ser mucho más exitosa la demandaron, de ahí la letra "esa es mi figura, yo hice la sombra, ese es mi nombre, no lo desgastes".

Favorite parts of the song: "That's my shape, I made the shadow, That's my name, don't wear it out though" "Feelin' myself can't be illegal, illegal" "So sue me for looking too pretty tonight" & "I guess I'm hard to ignore, Pick up that jaw off the floor".

"Sue Me" is a song that talks about moving on after leaving a relationship, showing yourself with confidence and the strength that was always inside you.

For Sabrina, this song is about empowerment and confidence. "It's about feeling comfortable with yourself, regardless of what others think."

My second favorite song on the album, is that it's so good Dios mío, this song has fun lyrics and spectacular vocals, one of Sabrina's best songs.

A curious fact about this song is that Sabrina wrote "Sue Me" the same day she was sued by former music managers after she decided to leave and go her separate ways, they never appreciated her and once they saw her doing things and working and being much more successful they sued her, hence the lyrics "that's my figure, I made the shadow, that's my name, don't wear it out".

5. Prfct.

Partes favoritas de la canción: “Fingiendo que lo sabemos todo” “Pero quiero sentirme nerviosa” “No será perfecto, pero lo sé, podría valer la pena” & “Las lágrimas caen por mi rostro”.

En ‘Prfct’ Sabrina canta sobre una relación que no es perfecta, pero que entiende que no necesita serlo para que merezca la pena luchar por ella.

Está canción es muy linda. Vocalmente se puede decir que tenemos de todo en esta canción, desde agudos altos hasta un buen coro y un final corto, agudo y dulce, la producción tiene una vibra muy linda y brillante.

Favorite parts of the song: "Pretend that we know it all" "But I wanna feel nervous" "It won't be perfect, but I know, it could be worth it" & "I left tears running down my face".

In 'Prfct' Sabrina sings about a relationship that isn't perfect, but she understands that it doesn't need to be perfect to be worth fighting for.

This song is very beautiful. Vocally you can say that we have everything in this song, from high treble to a good chorus and a short, sharp and sweet ending, the production has a very nice and bright vibe.

6. Bad Time.

Partes favoritas de la canción: “De repente te gusto de nuevo” “Me moría por usar la frase: Lo lamento, pero has llamado en un mal momento y cada vez probablemente será un mal momento” & “Todo está tan claro para mí ahora, desearía haberlo visto antes”.

‘Bad Time’ es una canción de venganza, habla de la forma en que hizo sentir a su pareja (en ese momento) lo mismo que le hizo sentir a ella durante un tiempo. Él siempre estaba ocupado haciendo cosas y dejándola, sin pensar que ella era una prioridad, así que cuando volvieron a estar juntos, ella le pago con la misma moneda.
En esta canción Sabrina está oficialmente harta de que los chicos le rompan el corazón y luego intenten volver cuando les conviene, así que les llama la atención: "Lo siento, pero has llamado en un mal momento y cada vez va a ser un mal momento. Esta canción es muy pegadiza y una de mis favoritas del álbum.

Favorite parts of the song: "Suddenly you're into me again" "I've been dying to use the line, I'm sorry, but you've called at a bad time, And every time is probably gonna be a bad time" & "Everything's so clear to me now, wish I could have seen it before".

'Bad Time' is a revenge song, it talks about the way he made his partner feel (at the time) the same way he made her feel for a while. He was always busy doing things and leaving her, not thinking she was a priority, so when they got back together, she paid him back in kind.

In this song Sabrina is officially sick of guys breaking her heart and then trying to come back when it's convenient for them, so she calls them out on it, "I'm sorry, but you called at a bad time and every time it's gonna be a bad time. I'm sorry, but it's not like the last time when you called me expecting a good time."

This song is very catchy and one of my favorites on the album.

7. Mona Lisa.

Partes favoritas de la canción: “No tienes que ser un desconocido” “Mis dos ojos han estado fijándose en ti” & “Ven y di: Hola, moría por conocerte”.

Está canción está bien producida, tiene un ritmo suave que encuentra su propio equilibrio al llegar al estribillo, Sabrina suena tan bien aquí y tiene una actitud/coqueteo en su voz que realmente da a la canción mucho carácter.

Favorite parts of the song: "You don't have to be a stranger" "Both of my eyes, they've been fixing on you" & "Come and say, "Hi, I've been dying to meet ya".

This song is well produced, has a smooth beat that finds its own balance as it reaches the chorus, Sabrina sounds so good here and has an attitude/flirtatiousness in her voice that really gives the song a lot of character.

8. Diamonds Are Forever.

Partes favoritas de la canción: La canción entera lol.

"Diamonds Are Forever", muestra que Sabrina vale tanto como un diamante y que su amor permanecerá para siempre.

Está canción derrocha pura confianza, solo el titulo ya te dice que esta es LA CANCIÓN. Sabrina realmente sirvió con la voz en esta pista, ella no se contiene.

Es simplemente impecable, una verdadera belleza de canción.

Favorite parts of the song: The whole song lol.

"Diamonds Are Forever", shows that Sabrina is worth as much as a diamond and that their love will remain forever.

This song exudes pure confidence, just the title alone tells you that this is THE SONG. Sabrina really served with the vocals on this track, she doesn't hold back.

It's simply flawless, a true beauty of a song.
