Vor 24 (!) Jahren habe ich diesen Song für meine erste Band Divine Symphony geschrieben. Als großer Fantasy Freak und Fan von Konzeptalben der Marke Blind Guardian, Ayreon und Rhapsody Of Fire (man könnte auch sagen „Metal Hobbit“) stolperte ich in der Schulbibliothek zufällig über die Novelle „A Wizard of Earthsea“. Ich „lieh“ mir das Buch aus - es befindet sich noch heute in meinem Besitz - und begann jedes Kapitel einzeln zu vertonen.
Der Song „Warriors in the Mist“ markiert das erste Kapitel des Buches, in dem ein junger Zauberlehrling mithilfe seiner Magie sein Dorf vor plündernden Krieger rettet – klassischer Fantasy Stoff eben. Vor ein paar Jahren grub ich den Song wieder aus und begann darauf herumzujammen. Heraus kam diese Version, die mit der ursprünglichen Metal Fassung nicht mehr allzuviel zu tun hat, aber dafür einen ganz eigenen Charme besitzt. Jedenfalls gefiel der Song auch meiner Frau Patsch ( @PAtScHWOrK ), die daraufhin gleich zum Pinsel griff und 3 Bilder beisteuerte. Außerdem basteltet sie noch ein paar digitale Animationen dazu und so entstand nun dieses Video der „Warriors in the Mist“. Hört und schaut mal rein!

24 (!) Years ago I wrote this song for my first band Divine Symphony. As a big fantasy freak and fan of concept albums from the Blind Guardian, Ayreon and Rhapsody brands (commonly known as a “Metal Hobbit”), I stumbled upon the novel "A Wizard of Earthsea" in the school library. I "borrowed" the book – still got it today - and began to write music for each chapter.
The song "Warriors in the Mist" is the name of the first chapter of the book, where a young sorcerer's apprentice saves his village from plundering warriors with his magic - classic fantasy stuff. A few years ago I dug up the song again and started jamming around with it. The result was this version, which doesn't have much to do with the original Metal version, but it has its own charm. In any case, my wife ( @PAtScHWOrK ) also liked the song, grabbed the brush and contributed 3 pictures. She made a few more digital animations and that is how the video of the "Warriors in the Mist came to live. Enjoy!
Einfach super. Habe den Song zuerst im Post Deiner Frau gehört. Hab sofort gedacht: das wäre ein Song für Manowar. Cool, dass er früher als Metal Fassung geschrieben wurde. Extrem gut gemacht, danke.
