Yo estoy muy contenta por suerte y vengo a compartirles el motivo de mi alegría.
She is María Becerra. She is an Argentine singer whom I've been following since the beginning, when she used to record humor videos on YouTube, and later on Instagram. That's where she started to strengthen her desire to pursue singing. Gradually, she achieved it, and during the pandemic, she managed to do several concerts back to back. People criticized her because she lacked experience and practice in front of such a large audience. She got nervous and sometimes off-key. But she kept trying, even being honest with her audience and saying that these comments affected her. She was always very transparent with her feelings, and that made people empathize with her. She found a way to improve, and nowadays, she's a great artist.
Ella es María Becerra. Es una cantante argentina que sigo desde sus comienzos, cuando grababa vídeos de humor en Youtube, luego en Instagram. Allí es donde comenzó a darle fuerza a este deseo de dedicarse a cantar. Hasta que de a poquito lo logró y en la pandemia logró hacer varios recitales en el mismo tiempo, uno tras otro. La gente la criticaba porque no tenía experiencia ni la práctica de estar ante tanta gente. Se ponía nerviosa y desafinaba. Pero ella siguió intentándolo aún siendo sincera con su público y diciendo que estos comentarios le afectaban. Siempre fue muy transparente con sus sentimientos y eso hizo que empatizara con ella. Le buscó la vuelta hasta mejorar y hoy en día es una gran artista.
My joy, as I mentioned earlier, comes from the fact that I recently got to see her live. We had bought the ticket months ago for what was initially supposed to be her only show. Months later, they announced that it would be the second of the two concerts she had at the River Plate Stadium. It's one of the largest stadiums we have in Argentina, and she filled it twice. She was the first Argentine woman to do so.
Mi alegría, como les contaba al principio, proviene de que hace poco pude ir a verla en vivo. Habíamos comprado hacía meses la entrada para, lo que inicialmente era, su única fecha. Meses después, anunciaron que esa sería la segunda fecha de los 2 recitales que tuvo en el estadio River Plate. Es uno de los estadios más grandes que tenemos en Argentina y ella lo llenó dos veces. Fue la primer mujer argentina en hacerlo.
At first, those of us who bought the ticket for that date felt upset because it seemed unfair that we bought it first but would be the second to see her. However, on her first date, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. The show started late because rain was forecasted, so they weren't sure whether to proceed or not. Due to the rainy days the week before, the equipment that was already prepared for the concert started to fail that day. Luckily, we were able to watch it via streaming, and she seemed uncomfortable and annoyed. But thankfully, everything improved, and in the end, she seemed calmer.
Al principio quienes compramos esa entrada nos sentimos molestos porque nos pareció injusto que la hayamos comprado primero y seamos los segundos en verla pero en su primer fecha todo lo que podía salir mal, salió mal. Empezó tarde el show porque estaba pronosticado lluvia entonces no sabían si hacerlo o no. Debido a los días de lluvia que hubo la semana anterior, los equipos que ya estaban preparados para el recital comenzaron a fallar ese día. Tuvimos la suerte de poder verlo via streaming y se la notaba incómoda, molesta. Pero por suerte, todo mejoró y al final se la vio más tranquila.
The next day, my cousin, my girlfriend, a friend of ours, and I went to see her. We waited many hours to see her. The dresscode was purple so we tried to nail it. While we were waiting, we entertained ourselves as best we could taking photos.
Al día siguiente, fuimos a verla con mi prima, mi novia y una amiga nuestra. Esperamos muchas horas para verla. El código de vestimenta era color violeta así que tratamos de cumplirlo. Mientras esperábamos, nos entretuvimos como pudimos sacándonos fotos.
The show started on time. She came out very happy. The concert had a lot of lighting effects, many images on the screens. She interacted a lot with her audience, and you could really feel her excitement.
El show comenzó a horario. Ella salió muy contenta. El recital tuvo mucho juego de luces, muchas imágenes en las pantallas. Ella tuvo mucha interacción con su público y realmente te hacía notar su emoción.
She sang more than 20 songs, and the whole concert lasted about 2 hours. I had an excellent time because I knew all the songs, so I didn't get bored for a second. Besides, I noticed her improvement in the high notes, she seemed very comfortable and relaxed. It was as if she was enjoying that moment with all of us.
Cantó como más de 20 canciones, en total duró como 2 horas. La pasé excelente porque me sabía todas las canciones así que no me aburrí ni un segundo. Además de que noté su mejoría en cuanto a las notas altas, se la notó super cómoda y relajada. Como si estuviese disfrutando de ese momento con todos nosotros.
She ended the show by introducing everyone she works with on a daily basis and thanking us for coming to see her and supporting her. It was very emotional because, having followed her from the beginning and having seen her joys, fears, and insecurities exposed on social media for a long time, I felt a lot of pride and joy to have seen her fulfill her dream so happily and excitedly.
Terminó el show con ella mostrándonos a todas las personas con quien trabaja día a día y agradeciéndonos a nosotros por ir a verla y apoyarla. Fue muy emotivo porque al seguirla desde su comienzo y al haber visto sus alegrías, miedos e inseguridades expuestas en las redes durante mucho tiempo, sentí mucho orgullo y alegría de haberla visto realizar su sueño tan contenta y emocionada.
