Hola de nuevo! Antes que nada, les deseo un feliz año nuevo 2022, espero que venga colmado de muchísimas cosas buenas para ustedes. Hoy como primer post del año les traigo algo súper genial donde les hablaré sobre mis artistas favoritos que llegaron a influir mucho en sus respectivos géneros musicales. Realmente escucho casi cualquier género por lo que podría nombrar a muchos artistas que me gustan, sin embargo, existen artistas que llegan a ser más relevantes por su manera tan innovadora de experimentar con el género en el que se desenvuelven y eso es algo que de verdad me parece increíble, así que hoy les nombraré los artistas que más me gustan y su influencia en distintos géneros musicales, comencemos!
Hello again! First of all, I wish you a happy new year 2022, I hope it comes filled with lots and lots of good things for you. Today as the first post of the year I come with a super cool post where I will tell you about my favorite artists that came to influence a lot in their respective musical genres. I really listen to almost any genre so I could name many artists that I like, however, there are artists that become more relevant for their innovative way of experimenting with the genre in which they perform and that is something that I really find amazing, so today I will name the artists that I like the most and their influence in different musical genres, let's go!
Hace poco descubrí que me gusta muchísimo la salsa ya que es un género que me hace querer bailar bastante. Hace unas semanas me topé con un documental bastante interesante sobre la vida de Hector Lavoe (el cual pueden ver en Youtube dando click aquí), aquí descubrí la gran influencia de Lavoe en la música latina, creando un movimiento lleno de ritmos caribeños mezclados entre sí creando el género que conocemos actualmente como "salsa", donde Hector parecía cantar con algo de rabia y resentimiento, creando así la llamada salsa brava. Este artista marcó un hito desde sus inicios con la orquesta del artista Willie Colón, otro prodigio de la música, el cual prometía mucho para el género que estaba naciendo. Cuando Lavoe se separó de Willie Colón creó una sólida carrera en solitario donde lo bautizaron como "El cantante de los cantantes" e incluso "El rey de la salsa". Mis canciones favoritas de Lavoe son El cantante, Periódico de ayer, Aguanile, Todo tiene su final y El día de mi suerte. Quiero destacar que mientras estoy escribiendo este post estoy escuchando su música, la cual me parece genial y me anima bastante.
I recently discovered that I really like salsa because it is a genre that makes me want to dance a lot. A few weeks ago I came across a very interesting documentary about the life of Hector Lavoe (which you can watch on Youtube by clicking here), here I discovered the great influence of Lavoe in Latin music, creating a movement full of Caribbean rhythms mixed together creating the genre we know today as "salsa", where Hector seemed to sing with some anger and resentment, thus creating the so-called salsa brava. This artist marked a milestone since his beginnings with the orchestra of the artist Willie Colón, another musical prodigy, which promised much for the genre that was being born. When Lavoe separated from Willie Colón he created a solid solo career where he was baptized as "El cantante de los cantantes" and even "El rey de la salsa". My favorite Lavoe songs are El cantante, Periódico de ayer, Aguanile, Todo tiene su final and El día de mi suerte. I want to point out that while I am writing this post I am listening to his music, which I think is great and cheers me up a lot.
El tango es uno de los géneros que más me gustan, el cual nació en las calles de Argentina siendo el género más influyente de dicho país, donde se denota más que todo su danza que se baila en pareja, dando toques sensuales en el mismo, donde ambos bailarines son una libre representación emocional que cada uno tiene con su cuerpo y como se van acoplando, y su música tiene varias variantes. Muchos artistas fueron grandes influyentes del género donde se pueden destacar a Carlos Gardel, Enrique Santos Discépolo, Anibal Troilo o Libertad Lamarque, sin embargo un artista salió a revolucionar el tango a su modo y ese fue Ástor Piazzolla. Él no tuvo una vida fácil, con una pierna mala y una especie de bandoneón se adentró al difícil mundo de la música, donde aprendió uno de los géneros que más lo le gustó, el jazz. Al conocer a Gardel todo cambió, el gran compositor de tango le dijo a un pequeño Astor que tocaba extraño, pero que tenía talento y así le ofreció tocar con él. Cuando Piazzolla creció quería cambiar las cosas e hizo sus propias composiciones, y aunque sus tangos no se consideraban bailables, llego a generar el llamado "Nuevo Tango", mezclando un poco del jazz con la sensualidad del tango lo cual revolucionó de manera colosal el género. Entre las canciones que más amo de él están Oblivion, Balada para un loco, Libertango, y Adiós Nonino.
The tango is one of the genres that I like the most, which was born in the streets of Argentina being the most influential genre of that country, where it is denoted more than all its dance that is danced in pairs, giving sensual touches in it, where both dancers are a free emotional representation that each one has with his body and how they are coupled, and its music has several variants. Many artists were great influencers of the genre where we can highlight Carlos Gardel, Enrique Santos Discépolo, Anibal Troilo or Libertad Lamarque, however one artist came out to revolutionize the tango in his own way and that was Astor Piazzolla. He did not have an easy life, with a bad leg and a kind of bandoneon he entered the difficult world of music, where he learned one of the genres he liked the most, jazz. When he met Gardel everything changed, the great tango composer told a small Astor that he played strangely, but that he had talent and so he offered him to play with him. When Piazzolla grew up he wanted to change things and made his own compositions, and although his tangos were not considered danceable, he came to generate the so-called "Nuevo Tango", mixing a bit of jazz with the sensuality of tango which revolutionized the genre in a colossal way. Considerada una de las mejores bandas de rock de la historia, Queen revolucionó la industria de la música de manera inimaginable. Este grupo nace en Londres en los años 70s conformado por Freddie Mercury como vocalista, Brian May como guitarrista, John Deacon como bajista y Roger Taylor como baterista. Queen innovó en el rock mezclando varios sub-géneros en uno, donde a su vez mezclaba toques de música clásica con sus respectivos instrumentos haciendo una música sumamente inédita que nadie había escuchado antes en ningún género parecido. Sus inicios fueron buenos, uno de sus primeros álbumes llamado Sheer Heart Attack gozó de bastante fama, sin embargo el éxito los acobijaría con A Night at the Opera, donde su innovadora manera de hacer música se hizo notar de gran manera, causando gran impacto en la industria de la música. Las canciones cautivaban al público y la banda incentivaba la participación del mismo en sus conciertos lo cual era muy raro para ese entonces, ya que muy pocos artistas lo hacían. Llenaban estadios enteros y tienen el que es considerado el mejor concierto en vivo de todos los tiempo, el Live Aid de 1985. Definitivamente esta banda marcó un antes y un después, es mi banda favorita por mucho y es muy difícil escoger las canciones que más me gustan ya que todas las que he escuchado me encantan. La más destacables se pueden nombrar, y son Bohemiam Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Somebody to Love, I Want to Break Free, Another one bites the Dust etc.

En 1960 junto a sus hermanos, fue parte de la agrupación llamada Jackson 5, donde estuvo activo hasta 1975 donde inició su carrera en solitario. Su disco Off the Wall fue lanzado y tuvo éxito, pero la década de los 80s fue la época dorada para él donde cambiaría la industria de la música pop de una manera sumamente increíble, ya que en 1982 lanzaría Thriller, el cual fue tan exitoso que se convirtió en el disco más vendido de la historia. Ese álbum tuvo éxitos que se posicionaron en los Billboard hasta por más de 35 semanas, haciendo que Michael Jackson se volviera en todo un ícono del pop. A partir de ahí vino éxito tras éxito, su álbum Bad, contó con muchas canciones que también estuvieron varias semanas en los Billboard, sin embargo su salud comenzó en sus primeros pasos de deteriorarse, ya que fue diagnosticado con vitiligo, lo que causó que tuviera que contar con tratamientos fuertes e incluso cambiar su dieta. Su fama era inimaginable y cada vez que sacaba un álbum era un éxito asegurado, no obstante a partir de 1993 comenzó su declive debido a las polémicas. Aunque luego de los 2000 sus álbumes tenían éxito moderado, las controversias afectaron de gran manera, aunque luego de su muerte se observó el gran legado que dejó para la industria del pop. Su música sigue siendo un éxito hasta el día de hoy, amo muchísimo su música y es muy difícil decir cuales son mis favoritas. Las más exitosas y conocidas son Thriller, Billie Jean, Beat it, Bad, The way you make me feel, We are the world, etc.
Considered the King of Pop, Michael Jackson had a resounding success most of his life, starting his way to stardom since he was a child. In 1960, together with his brothers, he was part of the group called Jackson 5, where he was active until 1975 when he started his solo career. His album Off the Wall was released and was successful, but the decade of the 80s was the golden age for him where he would change the pop music industry in an incredible way, since in 1982 he would release Thriller, which was so successful that it became the best-selling album in history. That album had hits that stayed on the Billboard charts for over 35 weeks, making Michael Jackson a pop icon. From there came hit after hit, his album Bad, had many songs that also spent several weeks on the Billboard charts, however his health began to deteriorate in his first steps, as he was diagnosed with vitiligo, which caused him to have to rely on strong treatments and even change his diet. His fame was unimaginable and every time he released an album it was a guaranteed success, however from 1993 he began his decline due to controversies. Although after the 2000's her albums were moderately successful, the controversies affected her in a big way, although after her death the great legacy she left for the pop industry was observed. His music continues to be a success to this day, I love his music very much and it is very difficult to say which are my favorites. The most successful and well known are Thriller, Billie Jean, Beat it, Bad, The way you make me feel, We are the world, etc.
Existen muchos compositores de música clásica bastante influyentes, tales son los casos de Mozart, Haydn, Bach, Chopin, Vivaldi, etc, pero el compositor que más me gusta considero que revolucionó la música clásica de gran forma, y ese es Beethoven. La vida de este compositor era humilde, su padre era músico pero con problemas con el alcohol, sin embargo Beethoven desde muy pequeño mostró un gran talento con la música. Su desarrollo musical fue mayor cuando llegó a Viena, donde creció musicalmente y pudo vivir de ello. Algo que se destaca, es que Ludwing era muy impetuoso en su manera de tocar, mostrando gran pasión y siendo sumamente innovador para su época, además de tener un carácter irritable y sumamente volátil, demostrándolo en sus composiciones donde se comenzó a generar el "romanticismo". Cuando creó su primera sinfonía tiempo después no la consideraba lo suficientemente buena, y a partir de ahí comenzó su camino al éxito y al abismo. Perdió su audición pero seguía trabajando, sus obras eran sumamente aclamadas e inéditas para el público de se entonces, pero poco a poco fue disminuyendo su aparición en escenarios debido a su deteriorada salud. Pasó sus últimos años aislado conversando con algunos amigos por escrito, componiendo sus últimas sinfonías las cuales fueron sumamente exitosas, y aunque tenía muchas acciones financieras, vivía casi en la miseria. Su salud se fue degradando cada vez más hasta quedar postrado en su cama por problemas hepáticos, hasta el día de su muerte el 26 de marzo de 1827. Entre sus obras más destacables y que mes fascinan puedo nombrar la Sinfonía N°9, Sinfonía N°7, Concierto para violín en Re menor, Sonata N°14 para piano, Sonata N°8 para piano, entre muchísimas otras obras increíbles.
There are many influential composers of classical music, such as Mozart, Haydn, Bach, Chopin, Vivaldi, etc, but the composer that I like the most I consider that revolutionized classical music in a great way, and that is Beethoven. The life of this composer was humble, his father was a musician but with alcohol problems, however Beethoven showed a great talent for music from a very young age. His musical development was greater when he arrived in Vienna, where he grew musically and was able to make a living from it. Something that stands out is that Ludwing was very impetuous in his way of playing, showing great passion and being extremely innovative for his time, besides having an irritable and extremely volatile character, demonstrating it in his compositions where the "romanticism" began to be generated. When he created his first symphony some time later, he did not consider it good enough, and from then on his path to success and the abyss began. He lost his hearing but continued to work, his works were highly acclaimed and unpublished for the public of the time, but his appearance on stage gradually diminished due to his deteriorating health. He spent his last years in isolation, conversing with a few friends in writing, composing his last symphonies which were highly successful, and although he had many financial shares, he lived almost in misery. His health became more and more degraded until he was bedridden with liver problems, until the day of his death on March 26, 1827. Among his most outstanding and fascinating works I can name Symphony No. 9, Symphony No. 7, Violin Concerto in D minor, Sonata No. 14 for piano, Sonata No. 8 for piano, among many other incredible works.

Increíble trabajo de investigación, Gaby. Yo no escucho salsa (tampoco me desagrada tbh) sin embargo es un genero al que le tengo mucho respeto por lo difícil que es tocarlo, hay que literalmente aprender todo un nuevo lenguaje tecnico y melódico para poder tocar BIEN, y eso sin dejar de mencionar el "swing", algo muy látino y de lo que OBVIAMENTE carezco jajajajajajaja. En cuánto a Michael Jackson y Queen pues que puedo decir que no se haya dicho ya? Pocas veces en la historia de la música se ha visto algo como la propuesta de Queen ( cof-cof, Multiverso) y a pesar de lo que conocemos hoy en día, en principio se les tildó de locos jajajaja; la música de Michael Jackson sin embargo poco o nada se más allá de lo común, pero si se nota mucho su influencia en artistas como Bruno Mars, por ejemplo. Y Beethoven literalmente reinventó toda la música aristocratica y eso en si mismo ya es un logro demasiado grande xD.
