SWIMMING POOLS(DRANK)

Exploring is so good, did I ever mention that? This is a very random thing and I have no idea why it got to my head... I've always really liked the feel of calm music. I love calm music to be honest. I prefer it a whole lot to hip hop and stuff...My own opinion though

In July 2012,Kendrick Lamar released "Swimming pools(Drank)". He released it as a promotional single for his studio album "Good kid". This track is an absolute banger that explores the complex relationship with alcohol and the impact it can have on individuals and communities. It revolves around the temptation and the downward spiral of alcoholism

Kendrick Lamar's introspective lyrics and smooth flow takes center stage as he delves into the pressures of peer influence and the dangers of excessive drinking.

The production of the song is so good, with a haunting melody and a hypnotic beat that perfectly complements Kendrick's thought-provoking lyrics. The combination of the atmospheric sound and amazing lyrics creates an immersive experience for the listener.

What really makes "Swimming Pools (Drank)" so unique is its ability to capture serious topics while still being incredibly catchy and enjoyable to listen to. In an interview in 2012, Lamar told Complex,"I wanted to do something that felt good but had a meaning behind it at the same time."

Lamar grew up in an environment that encouraged the lifestyle of drinking..During a conversation with Complex,Lamar would talk about how he was given two options whilst growing up and none of them excluded alcohol. "What better way to make something universal than to speak about drinking? I'm coming from a childhood where you had to make a decision-you were either a casual drinker or you're a drunk" and he continued, "That's what that record is really about,me experiencing that as a kid and making my own decisions."

"Rather bringing that main stream world to us,rather than a rapper with content. I wanted to do something that's universal to everybody but still true to myself".

Kendrick Lamar is just that never fading artiste. I rate and listen to artists according to how good they create music, according to how it feels when listening to them. Kendrick's songs never really gets old. Ten years later and it still sound so good. I mean only a few artist has this unique ability. New generational artists need to learn how to create long lasting music. Music nowadays never really lasts more than a month or two. Might sound really good that night and the next, but after a while you get extremely tired and that's not the type of songs I like to listen to!
