Continuing my series of posts talking about something I understand little but really like, music. Today I'll be giving my opinion on the
fifth album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
The album was released on September 24, 1991, on this record we continue with Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante and Chad Smith. With this album the band achieved great success both in the US and internationally, reaching the top 3 of the US Billboard 200.
On this record we see the first appearances of the band's most melodic songs, such as the artwork Under the bridge, and other very good ones like Breaking the Girl and I Could Have Lied. All by the way very well written and Frusciante's composition fit very well with them.
Even with the appearance of these melodic songs, the band still hasn't lost the identity of funk (Funky Monks) alternative rock (Give It Away), and at times Frusciante's solos came in, which were softer than the last album, running away from metal.
In general, I thought it was a great album so far, the best I've heard, it had two great singles known worldwide and delivered a lot with the other songs. Only the last 3 tracks that I didn't like but the rest very good.
My favorite songs: Under the bridge, Give it Away, Breaking the Girl, Suck my Kiss and I Could have Lied.

Continuando minha série de posts falando de algo que entendo pouco mas gosto muito, música. Hoje estarei dando minha opinião sobre o quinto álbum da banda Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
O álbum foi lançado em 24 de setembro de 1991, nesse disco continuamos com Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante e Chad Smith. Com esse álbum a banda alcançou um grande sucesso tanto nos EUA quanto internacionalmente, atingindo o top 3 do US Billboard 200.
Nesse disco vemos as primeiras aparições das músicas mais melódicas da banda, como a obra de arte Under the bridge, e outras também muito boas como Breaking the Girl e I Could Have Lied. Todas por sinal muito bem escritas e a composição do Frusciante encaixou muito bem com elas.
Mesmo com a aparição dessas músicas melódicas a banda ainda não perdeu a identidade do funk (Funky Monks) rock alternativo (Give It Away), e em alguns momentos entrava os solos do Frusciante que foram mais suaves que o do último disco, fugindo do metal.
De um modo geral achei um ótimo disco até aqui o melhor que escutei, teve dois grandes singles conhecidos mundialmente e entregaram muito com as demais músicas. Apenas as 3 últimas faixas que não me agradaram mas o resto muito bom.
Minhas músicas favoritas: Under the bridge, Give it Away, Breaking the Girl, Suck my Kiss e I Could have Lied.
