in Music9 months ago

Greetings!

As part of the “ON THIS DAY…” column, I want to share with you, dear readers, the events in the world of music that took place on August 3rd.

So. Let's begin!

THE BEATLES LAST CONCERT

Few people know, but it was on this day 60 years ago, in 1963, that the Liverpool four gave their last concert as part of THE BEATLES. The performance took place at The Cavern Club, a significant place for musicians, because it was here, as many sources say, that their career began.

And eight years later (1971), on the same day, Paul McCartney creates the world-famous band The Wings. I assume you are aware that the line-up included Paul's wife Linda, as well as Moody Blues guitarist Danny Lane.

And in conclusion, one more event in the life of the group members. On the same day in the same year, Ringo Starr received the Golden Globe for the song "It Don't Come Easy".

"Hysteria" of DEF LEPPARD

Another significant event happened on this day in 1987. After three years of work and hardships, DEF LEPPARD musicians release the studio work "Hysteria".

Many people know that it was during this period that the group got into a terrible car accident. As a result of this event, drummer Rick Allen lost his arm and after rehabilitation he continued his way with DEF LEPPARD. I admire people who have such great willpower and devotion to what they love.

Astrophysicist Brian May

On August 3, 2008, Brian May received his PhD in Astrophysics. We know this person as a permanent member of the legendary Queen. The musician worked on his dissertation for about thirty-five years. The work was aimed at studying zodiac dust clouds in interplanetary space. It is even difficult to pronounce it, let alone write a dissertation on such a topic.

And what interesting and significant events related to music do you know on this day? Write in the comments. I am very interested in hearing about your findings.

Thank you for your attention!
