The Siren's Call - Teletuesday with Baglama Saz

Here is an improvisation for #teletuesday by @steevc where I combine it with a long neck Turkish baglama saz. This improvisation basically started out with the saz where I listened to a generic metronome to get the timing right. Later I added darbuka, frame drums, riq and marimba with my Roland Handsonic. With the rhythm in place I brought in a couple tracks on my G&L ASAT. The first ASAT track has effects via guitar rig 6 and the second track is with bias fx 2. I was testing out a weird fingernail sliding technique on the guitar similar to how Sarod players play their instruments by fretting with their nails and sliding on the string rather than the fret. It will take more practice to get good at it, especially on a guitar.

The overall mood of this improvisation is mysterious and a bit creepy. It kind of reminds me of Greek mythology where a siren at sea calls ships to their demise on a rocky shoreline.

Thanks for listening :-)

Very atmospheric. You really stack up the tracks. I just can't keep up when it comes to making music. Not sure I have time for a Tele video today.

!BEER

Now that I'm working from home I no longer waste time on the train commute. Lots more time to record/jam.

Hey @sketch.and.jam, here is a little bit of BEER from @steevc for you. Enjoy it!

Does that make it TurkishTeleTuesday?

Most definitely but it will end up being a very obscure tag unless its translated to Turkish and then they'll wonder what in the world a telecaster is.
