The Reasons You’re Not Succeeding As a Music Artist

Different people define success differently. Some musicians feel successful because they have a small loyal fanbase.

Yet, if you’re seeking big commercial success while being fully independent, there are some undeniable reasons you’re still not there. Let’s uncover them!

1. Lack of clear direction

How will you arrive at a destination if you don’t know the path to it? People often get swept by the “hustle” mentality. So much that they don’t spend a single day off…

Action is the most significant part of this path, but it has to be passion-driven action.

Taking action in the wrong times is probably the biggest reason for burnout. Get some time off to clarify your vision- I promise you will achieve more by doing so.

2. Not Systematizing Your Action

Art doesn’t have rules- we all know that. Yet, not having rules does not mean not having a SYSTEM for making music more effectively.

A quality system will not only save you time, but increase the quality of your music since you have more energy to create. I’m sharing my own system in a free gift I’ve prepared for you- more about it later…

Nevertheless, the first step you can take is finding out the average time you spend on a song.

Then you can start measuring the average time you spend on each separate action (lyrics, beatmaking, mix, master, etc.) You will get ideas in the actual process, which you can write down and use it.

3. Neglecting The Power Of Connections

The whole music industry created by and for people. Our whole civilization is just a bunch of people living in big boxes.
You have to look at your connections as resources.

Every single person can potentially assist you in one way or another.

If you make a list of all the people you know and separate them in different categories, you’ll be able to think about how these people can help you reach your goals faster.

Of course, you should think about ways to help these people too. Everybody should win at the end!

4. Not Making Music From Your Heart

Let’s be real- Drake, Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, and every other artist already exists…

Copying and pasting their styles will lead you to nowhere. The only way to succeed is by being yourself.

Develop your own style, test your voice, get courses, go to vocal lessons- you have an unlimited amount of opportunities to grow. Don’t miss on them!

5. Not Building Your Brand

Nowadays everybody wants and tries to be a rapper, beatmaker, producer, manager, CEO, Executive…

If you look just like everyone else trying hard in the game, how can you win this game? Staying in the crowd for long won’t make you the leader of it.

Publish content in your social media channels which is relatable to your music and personality.

It’s worth it to open a place in your budget for building and marketing your brand.
Finding the right people can significantly grow your brand faster than you ever expected.
