Hello everyone! I just want to give an update on my musical journey. I'll start with some background and then discuss what is to come!
Firstly - I'm having trouble getting onto 3speak to upload a video at the moment, maybe the system is down? I'll try again tomorrow :)
Music & Background
You all know me as sunsethunter, of course! However, my artist name is 'CHOEY G'
Why CHOEY G? Well, my actual name is Joe, which I often get called Joey, which merged into Choey!
I've been playing guitar for many years now... around 17-18 years! On and off. I played loads in my teens and then in my early 20s I guess I was a little distracted (I can go into that another time) but just picked the guitar up once or twice a week. I have also travelled a lot, which made it difficult to really focus on my playing. However, I've been stationed for the past 3 years here in New Zealand and have really let the fire burn! I play every day, and love it!
When I was in my teens I was in bands and would play gigs all the time - originals and covers. It was so awesome! Rock, metal, blues, pop... all the styles!
Album Release 9th July
So, how did this album come about? Well I was previously working in China and would always have an acoustic guitar with me. I always wanted to write my own album, and songs, but just had some ideas. I guess I can say during the first lockdown here in NZ I was able to really focus on my song writing, and lo and behold, 10 songs matured!
