So geil oder traurig, wenn Du im Keller die ganzen alten Vinyl Platten im Staub siehst - muss ich echt real mal zeigen - Mix Metal, early Techno / Electronic, Rock, Rap - fast alles dabei sogar Orgelkonzert von Johann Sebastian Bach - wer kennt das noch - alles vor Internet, Smartphone Zeiten
Just stumbled across all these rock albums in my cellar with so many awesome bands and songs - this vinyl compilation is full of dust. (WANNA SEE my own compilation next time???)
I thought, what is the best ever rock song of all time. Obviously all a matter of taste. I could not decide - probably have at least 60-80 of them - who can help me fpr this tag #rockbest - too many songs to not mention.

I usually would have said songs betweenn 70ies to 90ies - but that would show I am old - hence open to younger Rock songs - here I also trust my fellow older ones to contribute with songs I even know - so thanks in advance @steevc @detlev @twinner @alexvan @seckorama @ylich
Why not implementing little initiative / tag that people might wanna use - or they just comment with their choice.
My Best Rock Song Ever - STILL OF THE NIGHT
Of course there are many more - but that one by Whitesnake combined a lot - rock, keyboards and classical strings - from fast rock beats to decent classical sounds with cello / violin - all within one song. I love it.

It is a great song, has a lot of influence, from Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love and Black Dog, and some nice Rainbow or Deep Purple influence.
Ich kann mich sehr für Helloween's Dr. Stein und Futureworld begeistern.
Kiss - I Was Made For Loving You finde ich auch zeitlos gut. OK, ist ziemlich Disco-lastig die Nummer. :-)

Von Pretty Maids gibt es auch ein Future World. Das kannte ich bislang nicht, meinte ich allerdings auch nicht. ;-)
Ich meine tatsächlich Helloween - Future World, das auch keine Cover Version von dem obigen Teil ist.
Der Song war auch der Grund, warum ich mir 3 Alben der Band auf Vinyl zugelegt hatte. Ist auch der Top-Titel auf der "Keeper 1". ;-)
Interessant, kannte ich nicht von Helloween, hab von denen "Keeper of the Seven Keys" oder so ähnlich :-)
Ich habe beide Alben - Keeper Of the 7 Keyes Teil und 2.
Auf Teil 1 ist Future World, auf Teil 2 ist Dr. Stein.
Ich habe den Song auch etwas länger nicht gehört. Die Studio Version gefällt mir besser als die Live Version. Live ist für meinen Genschmack nur wirklich live besser. Im Studio kann man einfach perfekter arbeiten. Ich weiß, das sieht natürlich nicht jeder so. ;-)
Auffällig ist doch, daß bei vielen harten Bands der kommerziell erfolgreichste Titel eine Ballade ist. Bei den Scopions ist es ganz krass. Still Loving You, Wind Of Change und natürlich...
Scorpions mag ich nicht, die Stimme Klaus nervt und selnbst wenn sie rocken ist es irgendwie lahm (für mich zumindest)
Ich mag nur die 3 Balladen von der Combo. Aber die finde ich richtig gut. Geile Kompositionen. :)
Übrigens finde ich Poison von Alice Cooper besser als von GC.... ;-)

Es ist so schwer, den besten Rock Song zu küren. Ein Top Kandidat ist bei mir auch das hier @uwelang
Ich finde das Intro von PM - FW mega-geil. Kann man auch Trance draus machen... ;) ;-) Die Hook ist bei Helloween stärker. Die wäre auch Dance-tauglich. Glaube aber, Helloween würde mich steinigen, wenn ich mich daran versuchen würde. :-)
Sehe ich auch so, lass sie steinigen - mach doch mal :-)
Meine Energie ist begrenzt. Daher verwende ich sie lieber für Projekte mit überschaubaren Risiken. ;)

It depends more on the moment and what I like. I've been listening to Porcupine Tree a lot lately, and this epic song, 17 minutes long if you can listen to the whole thing, contains, for me personally, everything that I consider to be The Best in Rock music from the beautiful melodies and instrumental passages to the tight and punchy rhythms.

Wenn jemand Deep Purple den Rücken kehrt, um dann sich als "Glam-Rocker" im Stil von Bon Jovi präsentiert, dann läuft er bei mir unter »ferner liefen«. Da es sich bei der Musik ähnlich dem Aufstrich für Pfannkuchen verhält und über den Geschmack verschiedene Meinungen vorherrschen, lege ich eine Vinyl-Scheibe aus dem Jahr 1971 auf.
Was Rocksongs betrifft, sind die Brandenburgischen Konzerte von Bach auch nicht zu verachten

Wow wow wow, stop - nein, das seh ich komplett anders - Coverdale und Bon Jovi ist ne andere Nummer und Coverdale was der besser Sänger bei Deep Purple - nix gegen Ian Gillan oder Chris Curtis, aber David bessere Stimme und alleine wg Jon Lord der bessere Sound als deep Purple.
Aber natürlich Geschmacksache - es soll Leute geben die Guns n Rose gut finden wegen einer angeblichen Stimme von Axel Rose (was Rabengekrächze ist :-)!)
Bon Jovi Glam ja, aber Live kann der richtig gut sein, über 3h im Olympiastadion, das war ein Fest wobei er natürlich nie an Metallica in den besten Zeiten rankommen kann.
