To me, a minimalist lifestyle is best described in one word: modesty. It means living within my means, being contented with what I have, and not being pressured to live up to anyone’s expectations. It’s about looking your best without breaking the bank or going into debt. It’s about being intentional with your choices: what you wear, how you live, what you spend on and of course, finding peace in simplicity.
Over the years, I’ve come to embrace this lifestyle fully. It represents everything I stand for. I don’t believe in living to impress others or borrowing to create a false image. I will rather work with what I have, shop within my budget, and combine outfits creatively. It might not be extravagant, but it’s always thoughtful, elegant, and true to who I am.
I often tell my friends: there’s nothing more beautiful than a simple lifestyle. Lavishness doesn’t always guarantee beauty. True beauty comes from confidence, composure, and intentionality. In fact, how people perceive and appreciate your style often depends on how you carry yourself. You could wear the most expensive things and still lack grace. But when you wear simplicity with confidence, people will notice and admire it.
Being a minimalist doesn’t mean I lack resources. It just means I have chosen peace of mind over pressure. I don’t embrace simplicity because I have no money. I chose it because it gives me rest. It frees me from the stress of unnecessary spending and the burden of trying to keep up appearances. I don’t want to work myself to exhaustion just to keep up an image that doesn’t reflect who I am.
There was a time when I used to worry about people looking down on me because of my choice of lifestyle, I used to feel like I needed to conform to their standard to prove that I'm not poor, but not anymore. I’ve grown, and my confidence and intentionality have levelled up. I’ve learnt that living simply doesn’t make me less, but actually makes me more secure, and more at peace.
Today, I now set my own standard. I wear whatever I'm comfortable in. I purchase whatsoever I can can afford. I keep everything simple and real. Trust me it's more beautiful than they had thought. I will put some of my pictures on this post as a testament that simple lifestyle can be beautiful. People now compliment my style and admire my simplicity. That’s the beauty of it. A minimalist lifestyle isn’t about owning less, it’s about making more out of less. It’s about being contented, being intentional, and confident in my own simple but beautiful way. You know, I don't just like it complicated. It is indeed good to keep it simple.
Thankfully, people are coming to the light of it. More people are seeing reasons to keep it moderate. Imagine, some will want to do burial ceremonies of the dead, and still go as far as taking loan to foot the bills, and get dragged and shamed by their lenders after party. It is not worth it. I keep saying nothing gives us peace than keeping it simple.
Thanks for reading.

Living a simple lifestyle doesn’t mean one is stingy to themselves, it means one have chosen peace over chaos and living minimally brings true peace within.
