New Series on my Blog | Project Pan | First Step to Becoming a Minimalist :)

Hello and welcome! :)

Recently I've been thinking about things that I own - the shelves filled with books, the wardrobe with no space for more clothes, or my bathroom that is overflowing with cosmetics.

To be honest, I am not a big fan of having a lot of stuff, but I have realised that I, in fact, have too much stuff. I remember reading or watching videos about being a minimalist, and I would really like to give it a try!

Project Pan

So, I have stumbled upon a video explaining the Project Pan, and got interested in it. It is basically a "project", where you do not buy any cosmetics until you finish the ones you already have. For example, if you have 4 shower gels, you finish all of them, and then buy a new one, even if you know that your favourite one is already empty. I thought it was a great idea, so let me give it a try!

WHY?

What is my goal? I have quite a few of them:

  1. As I already said - to reduce the amount of things that I own in order to have less things and feel better mentally.
  2. Conscious use of things - I want to know that I have control over what I buy, and how much money I spend on things, because I sometimes buy some unnecessary stuff.
  3. To get rid of the problem that I will probably have when I move out - I was thinking about the time when I probably move out of my family house, which is not so soon, yet I thought that maybe I'd prefer to take only the things that I use daily, instead of taking boxes and boxes of stuff that I sometimes don't even use.
  4. More time - when it comes to cleaning, for example my wardrobe, it takes too much time, so with less things, it will probably take less time.
Areas of challenge

I know that Project Pan is about cosmetics, but I think I need some changes in those areas:

  • books (definitely!)

As you know, I am a huge fan of books. Last year I read around 20 books, and I think this year it will be around 10. I love reading, as well as buying new books, but I found out that I have a lot of books that I am not even planning to read.

  • cosmetics (hair, body, make-up)

It will be easy, I think. I am not a huge fan of make-up, I don't even use foundation or concealer, so I don't have as much beauty products as people who wear full make-up every day.

  • clothes

Clothes are going to be the biggest challenge, because I don't throw or give away any clothes, even if I don't wear them anymore. I literally have clothes that I've never worn and clothes that I will never wear, so I will probably focus on books and cosmetics first.

What can you expect from my posts?

I will be sharing my journey of becoming a minimalist with you! I am definitely not going to end up with 3 cosmetics, 1 book, or 2 T-shirts, and I know that. It is more about what I use, and what I don't, and what I can do about it.

In my posts I will show you my progress, and even some cosmetic/book/cloth recommendations - what works for me and what does not. I want it to be a longer series on my blog, so feel free to check my monthly updates. I think the first post will be about the things that I have and what I want to change exactly. Maybe I'll divide it into 3 posts - cosmetics, books, and clothes. If you are interested in such content, you can leave a comment below.

Stay tuned! ♥

At least you've started to see what problems need to be solved. That's already an important step. Now you need to get organized to carry out your plan to tidy up your environment. Best regards.

Yes, exactly! Thank you for your comment:)
