You are so right about true wealth/peace/happiness being rooted in the gratitude and the lack of want. Consumerism is no different than being an alcoholic. People fool themselves into thinking that next purchase will make them happy but that satisfaction quickly fades and then they're having to chase the next thing that will make them happy. The pursuit is endless and leaves people broke and hollow. Happiness, being content, peace, and freedom are the real wealth.

You always have the right words, Eric. Buying for the sake of buying can be an addiction. That day I felt that that couple was buying to fill a void between them and within them. People like that, even if they have money, are poor. I send you a hug and I hope you have already taken your first ride in the new car.
Thanks Nancy! It sounds like your feelings were correct about that couple! It's very sad to see a relationship sustained by material things. Both of them will have regrets. Yes! People like that will always be poor because they'll never quite feel content with what they have. I already have almost 300 miles on the car, most of which has been the car driving itself! They gave me a free 30 day trial of Full Self Driving and I'm trying to make the most of it. We're taking it on a 1,700 mile road trip to Arizona next month!
