I’m a lover of simplicity, I guess if I was to give myself a new name it will be Ms Simple, hehe. Well, that’s to make you smile and I hope it worked! Anyways, today I’d be expressing my thoughts in the aspect of fashion minimalism, simplicity or opulence? The thing is, I do appreciate looking really nice, I love having new clothes and trying out new shoes but then, I always go for something simple, of good quality, neutral and easy going.
I hate turning my wardrobe upside down just to look for something to wear for any occasion, it can be really tiring and overwhelming. While growing up, I found myself attracted to clothes that made me looked like a tomboy, this is so because I loved anything that is comfortable and cool too. I have always been interested in wearing clothes that covers my body well because that’s the only way I feel comfortable but…
Things changed when I started turning into a lady, I wanted attention just like most girls so I had to change my style of dressing (that doesn’t mean I open my body, lol). Well, there wasn’t so much I could do but I try. I started off by adding more accessories to my look. I always hated wearing earrings, I just prefer looking the way I look without it but that made me look so much like a guy so I had to adjust it because I didn’t want to look like a boy.
I wanted to look elegant, I mean I’m a girl and you’d hardly see a guy that likes a girl that looks like him, lol. I put in a little effort but buying more gowns and skirts and over time, I have loved wearing more of gowns, simple gowns with good quality fabric. There are so many reasons gowns became my favorite. Wearing a gown for any occasion just makes life easier because you don’t have to think too much about a matching top or skirt to go with it, all you care mostly are your shoes.
I also love gowns because they save up more space in my box, unlike skirts and pants. It is safe to say I’m a fashion minimalist because my taste are quite simple and easy going but mostly classy. I hardly ever have to do away with a dress except they are too small for me but when it comes to the quality, I always like going for the best and affordable. And due to my choice, it makes it way easier for me to give out those clothes I no longer have need for.
And when I’m gifted some clothes that doesn’t fit, I make sure to remake them to fit my kind of clothes and that way I get to save myself from extra costs. I’m just so happy I have the means to get that done. And also, I literally hate clothes that looks too catchy to the eyes. If possible, I don’t want people noticing me too much, I just want to make you look but not for long. And that’s why I always go for designs that will always be in trend (brand less). I can get myself some brand names but then it will be on very rare occasions.
So basically, simplicity is the goal, not so much effort but I always come out looking just perfect for that day and that occasion. I’m not really a shoe person either, I love simple leg wears except for some special occasions like going for a church service, a program and others. I just have a pair or two just for days when they are needed.
Being a fashion minimalist hasn’t reduced my elegance one bit because I always get compliments every now and then about my outfits despite the fact I always put in minimal effort. I think lately I have been receiving a lot of compliments and I think that’s because I have chosen to spice things up a little by knowing my style and trying to stick with it for a while and then introduce something new in between.
So, Do you find being a fashion minimalist fun too? Or you like going all out when it comes to how you look! After all they say dress the way you wish to be addressed, hehe. Just leave your comments below, it will be cool to know I’m not alone when it comes to having a dress that is over 5 years, hehe.
This is my entry to the #kiss for this week, it’s always a pleasure participating in it as I get to explore different aspects of my minimalist journey. Thank you for stopping by ❤️.
Lovely! I really relate to this, as I've been going through a similar transition. I loved my tomboy era, but now I notice myself lean more into traditionally feminine outfits. However, an important realisation for me has been that you can look like a beautiful, classy lady even wearing "tomboy" clothes. Some of my sexiest outfits include cargo pants and oversized T-shirts :D
Or maybe because of it? Maybe the fact that you didn't spend the whole morning arranging the outfit carries through and people are attracted to those laidback vibes + your natural beauty? I dunno, but I do know I enjoyed this #KISS response! :)
Thanks for your #KISS
We enjoyed it 😉

Aww, I’m so glad you could relate with this. I do actually still love those tomboy clothes, like you I feel the ones I have are part of my sexiest collection, hehe. I do wear them depending on the occasion.
Yeah, I think that’s the secret too, minimal effort but maximum outcome 😌.
Thank you so much for this beautiful comment, it brought a smile to my face knowing you enjoyed reading it and could also relate with it 😊
MS Simple | HS simple. 😅
Seen your photos many times and yeah, you're not among them. And it's good because it's telling 1,000 yards wife material. Lol😅
Hehe, I saw this coming, I just wasn’t sure who it will come from 🤣.
Thank you for the compliment sir 🌚
I may be biased, but obviously I'm leaning more towards simplicity, too :D I agree that elegance isn't at all related to how many (or how few) clothing items you own.
P.S. - you look gorgeous. In all outfits. :)
I know right! Thank you so much for the compliment 😘
The pictures above are surely in par with the entire description. Looking good doesnt equate doing too much. Wearing good quality fabrics with colors that are suiting for your skin color, making sure they fit well on you and walking with all the confidence ever is a perfect fashion statement. After all, less is more.
Indeed! Thank you so much for your thoughtful response, it’s very much appreciated 🤗
I am very much attracted to ladies who dress like guys because they look smart and that's one thing I admire about women. Despite being a guy, you can't see me in tight clothes. I love the freedom that comes with wearing big clothes despite my huge stature.
While I have met people who complimented my dress, I have met people who condemned it. The most important thing is that I am comfortable, nothing more.
Simple and yet elegant, it's very simple but a lot of people don't understand.
I love big clothes, they just have the way it fits anyone who wears them. Like you said, as long as you are comfortable and confident in what you wear then you are good to go.
Thank you so much for your contribution buddy, it’s a pleasure having you stop by ❤️
