Ha the lamp is now fixed, and we are looking at sliding doors and cupboard inserts now. I couldn't even sleep with Jamie in a big bed - I can't stand how he 'settles' for sleep by moving! Poor guy.

Yes quirky sleep habits can be really annoying. And given how important good sleep is for your health, it's understandable.
A lot of it is the fault of the mattress when it's too soft... we have that difficulty now - our current mattress is too springy and cushiony, and so any motion is noticeable... the mattress we left in the US was very firm and just perfect for us.
I'm a fan of a firm mattress. WE did contemplate getting those mattresses that divide in middle? I can see why people did twin beds back in the day...
