RE: The Energy of Things: Minimalism to Turn Down the Cacophony

Thanks for bringing a fresh perspective to minimalism. It was the same for me when I started practicing minimalistic lifestyle, I had no idea what is is about, but one thing I know for sure that it makes me feel better about owning stuff.
I'm also curious about how you and your daughter doing it.

I think the main way we are "doing it" is TALKING about it. I KNOW my daughter likes to be surrounded by pillows in her bed and that they have a limited lifespan here in sweaty Asia. Yesterday I saw some cute ones and offered her the chance to replace some of her old pillows - and she declined! "I'm leaving Thailand in August, mama, and it would be a waste." I'm continuing to be incredibly proud of the aware young woman she's becoming. Mostly I've learned that SHE has to come to it in HER way, and it's not a lifestyle choice I can push on her. Cos if I do that, she just pushes back and hoards more.

Appreciating your comment contribution. 😍

You must be proud of her. I think it's very important that we have more meaningful conversations between family members. 😃

You are so right about that!
