For sure! I always appreciate people with creative thumbnail and photos rather than Pixabay. These days, you can make a good picture with smartphone and did an editing and that's something I consider effort even if it's not perfect.
Ya that's it exactly, it does not take too much to make that level of effort and people will notice when you do.
