Robin is showing off the latest fashion

This little fella was a bit alerted by the click of the shutter at first (the 1100D's shutter is pretty heavy going, not recommending for quiet places) but the campus robins are quite tame and I think they enjoyed showing off a little chirping the song

The tele lens at full zoom is amazing, it can focus down to about 1.5m object distance and on short range works like a macro lens, great for taking pictures of semi-wild animals that let you or come themselves within a few meters range.

When using auto mode for exposure time, make sure that the brightness metering is apropriate for the region of interest. On the Canon you can lock the current exposure time by pressing the * button while centering on the object or any darker part of the scene, then move the camera view to where it's wanted. So the sunny sky gets overexposed instead of causing a too short exposure time (then everything but sky would just be way too dark).

I like the pictures. I am also a guy who only owns a 55-(but)200mm lens and still try to catch some birds :)

Hey thanks =) Looking at your Myna series, it's great!
Even with the 250mm I always find myself wanting more zoom for more detail :')
