Gimme Moar of That, Please...

photo_2024-01-09_13-40-33.jpg

I wish we had a little bit of snow around the Christmas holiday, but instead of snow, we were greeted with temperatures exceeding 15 degrees Celsius and plenty of sunshine. The climate has certainly changed since my childhood years when I used to adore the snow – after all, what kid doesn't?

Today, we finally experienced a touch of the white powder blanketing the sidewalks and trees. The snowfall began last night, and by the time I went to sleep, a bit after midnight, a subtle white cover was already visible on the house roofs.

Upon waking up, I discovered that as the ground had turned ice-cold overnight, the snowflakes had found their home all over the place...

My car had accumulated a layer of snow, prompting me to undertake the task of cleaning it, defrosting the windows, and embarking on a ride to leverage the engine's heat to melt away the stubborn snow. Capturing as many pictures as possible during this process was my plan, and walking was certainly not part of it.

The current temperature stands at -5 degrees Celsius, and when I stepped outside, it was -4. However, the weather app suggested that the temperature felt even colder. After approximately fifteen minutes, I successfully cleared my driving position, and it was time to hit the road.

Despite having two dead glow plugs, my old diesel started surprisingly well, a fact that fills me with pride for my 20-year-old car 😀.

The first destination was on the other side of town, where I could capture some stunning shots featuring the Serbian peaks adorned in snow.

I didn't linger there for too long because it was freezing. I mean, it's the typical weather for this time of the year, but the transition from 8 degrees Celsius to -5 in less than four days feels like quite a rush, in my opinion.

I think I've caught a mild cold as well, as my neck is a bit sore, and my throat feels somewhat congested, but nothing to worry about. Time to take a stroll in the park too...

Normally, the park is part of my daily walks, but as mentioned in the introduction, I didn't bother walking too much today. Perhaps I'll do that a bit later; for now, I'm staying indoors.

We have two parks in this little town, and to be honest, it's a bit of a crappy place. There's one at the entrance, which I seldom visit and rarely capture in photographs, and there's the one in downtown. After snapping a bunch of photos in the town center park, I thought it would be a good idea to check out the other one as well.

The recently renovated park, however, didn't have anything extraordinary. Just a collection of benches on the sides, sidewalks, and an area dedicated to sports and child games.

I'm genuinely looking forward to the arrival of spring so I can enjoy a bit of ping pong over there.

After wrapping up my photo session at the park, I headed to the gym. The cold weather doesn't make it easy for me to train intensely, but I'm putting in my best effort to stay consistent.

Currently, I'm indoors, but I'm confident that I'll venture out for a walk in a few hours. The chilly fresh air is invigorating and renowned for its germ-killing properties. So, here's to the cold and proper winter weather.

How's winter treating you in your part of the world?

Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

Nice pictures. Really good thanks for share your shots

Thanks. Much appreciated.

And you can also draw something on the snow-covered windows of cars))

Didn't cross my mind... Now the snow on the car is almost completely melted.

Well, it's not the last snow this year))

Everything is completely frozen in ice. It looked bad, but it looked pretty good.

It is what it is..

So beautiful

We could do better 😉

Okay that footprint got me stuck.

And your 20-year -old car ..wow that must be built different.

Old cars are way more reliable than newer ones.

Oh noted.

I'm so jealous I love snow so much but now that I move close to the city I rarely see it, your photos make me remind such good memories 😍

I see it quite rarely myself as well, that's why I took so many photos of it...

For someone without a proper camera you are doing very well with photography!

I saw some snow too. I'll post about it, in 4-5 hours but you'll probably fall down from laughter if you see it :)

I had at some point a DSLR but sold it cuz I was rarely using it... For the moment rocking the Samsung Galaxy S21.

Your photos are work of art.

Yes, I remember that you sold it, that's why I said it.

Thanks!

Maybe I'll buy another one at the end of the bull market... I'll ask for advice this time.

Sure :)

Waiting for that post of yours now.

I have been delighted with the snow, the beautiful winter that does not exist in my country.
I congratulate you for this post @acesontop
Blessings from the hot Zulia, in Venezuela.

Thanks. You must be having warm weather all year round. That's not bad either. At least you can enjoy the beach more often than I do.

That's right, friend Adrian!
I live on the shores of the largest lake in South America.
A quiet and beautiful beach that gives way to the Caribbean Sea.
A big hug @acesontop

wow... It's a beautiful sight in my opinion, I just found out when the snow season in your area can be this crowded, maybe my body is not strong if I face the winter, it must be very cold with temperatures below average. But you managed to make me smile with some of these moments you shared.

That's a pretty generous layer of snow I'd say. Obviously not as it used to be like 10 years ago but in Sibiu we only saw tiny snowflakes in the air without making their presence on the ground or cars. And based on how the weather looks lately and a new week with warm temperatures coming up, I doubt we will have a bit of snow this winter.

Long gone are the good old winters we used to have.

So you enjoy being indoors instead of out in the winter wonderland? You've officially become an adult 🤣

Thanks so much for sharing your first taste of winter in 2024 :)
