It's been a wonderful weekend, and while out exploring nature this afternoon, I came across these gorgeous mushrooms. As a result, I'm going to share some close-ups of mushrooms with the Photography Lovers community.

Those of you who reside in tropical locations are probably already familiar with this fungus.

Cookeina tricholoma is a fungus that belongs to the Sarcoscyphaceae family and is also known as the bristly tropical cup. Carl Ernst Otto Kuntze, a German botanist, was the first to describe this species in 1891.

Because of its shape, which reminded me of a Rafflesia bloom, I almost assumed it was a fallen flower. But, in order to satisfy my curiosity, I immediately looked it up on Google Lens.
