Overcoming Post-Travel Blues in Street Photography

Greetings, photography lovers, from the streets of Belgrade!

I'm in a bit of post-travel melancholic phase in regards to street photography. Not sure if it's just me, but after I visit new interesting places, sometimes I find it hard to walk around the familiar streets of the hometown and try to come up with fresh ideas. Other times it can be inspiring though, getting back into the groove by looking at new horizons.

I am in a constant struggle to stay disciplined and make regular trips downtown for a photo walk (it would certainly be easier if I was living in the center, a walking distance from where things happen, but I'm not). And I also tend to be too hard on myself, I don't enjoy mediocre photos so I lose faith sometimes.

Selection below doesn't particularly stand out, but I'm showing it so that I can build on it in the upcoming posts. On a cloudy day like this, just before the rain, I normally get close to people and look for their expressions. There were a lot of happy couples on the street which you'll notice. From then on I headed to the Kalemegdan park, first visit there after almost a month of avoiding. Photos taken with Fuji X-Pro2 + 35mm F/2 lens.
