Over the past few weeks, I've made the most of the pleasant temperatures for sporting activities in the forest, swimming pool and quarry pond. The humid and warm weather has already brought me my first small mushroom finds in May. I can't remember ever having found chanterelles before in May.

in den vergangen Wochen habe ich die angenehmen Temperaturen ausgiebig für sportliche Betätigungen in Wald, Schwimmbad und Baggersee genutzt. Das feuchte und zugleich warme Wetter hat mir bereits im Mai erste kleine Pilzfunde beschert. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, schon mal im Mai Pfifferlinge gefunden zu haben.
I was also able to find a few scarletina boletes. Unfortunately, the snails also found an appetite for these good edible mushrooms, so of course I didn't collect them all, but left them in the habitat for further sporulation.

Auch ein paar Hexenröhrlinge konnte ich finde. Leider haben auch die Schnecken Gefallen an diesen guten Speisepilzen gefunden, so daß ich sie natürlich nicht gesammt, sondern zwecks weiterer Aussporung im Habitat belassen habe.
Unfortunately, I was unable to identify this species. Perhaps someone has an idea what kind of mushroom this could be.

Diese Art konnte ich leider nicht bestimmen. Vielleicht hat jemand eine Idee, um was für einen Pilz es sich hier handeln könnte.
Timber prices have probably risen quite sharply in recent years. This probably also contributed to the fact that a lot of trees were harvested. Unfortunately, a few of my best mushroom spots fell victim to the heavy equipment.

Die Holzpreise sind in den vergangenen Jahren wohl ziemlich durch die Decke gegangen. Auch dies trug wohl dazu bei, daß sehr viele Bäume geerntet wurden. Leider fielen dem schweren Gerät auch ein paar meiner besten Pilzfundorte zum Opfer.
Nevertheless, you can find life everywhere in the forest. Even in a simple puddle...

The Diana Hut above Boxtal is always particularly beautiful in early summer.

Die Diana Hütte oberhalb von Boxtal ist im Frühsommer immer besonders schön anzusehen.
This forest hut also invites you to a barbecue in the warm evening light. However, it is rarely used. The Kneipp pools, on the other hand, are somewhat more popular.

Auch die Bestenheider Hütte lädt im warmen Abendlicht zu Festlichkeiten ein. Sie wird allerdings nur selten genutzt. Die Kneippbecken werden dagegen etwas stärker frequentiert.
I found this marvellous meadow on a tour to Lenfurt, which belongs to the Bavarian market town of Triefenstein. Too bad that the sky was a bit cloudy at this time. A deep blue sky would have provided an additional colourful contrast.

Diese herrliche Wiese habe ich auf einer Tour nach Lenfurt, das zur bayrischen Markt Triefenstein gehört, gefunden. Schade, daß zu diesem Zeitpunkt der Himmel etwas wolkenverhangen war. Ein tiefblauer Himmel hätte zusätzlich noch für einen farbenfrohen Kontrast gesorgt.
Not far from Lengfurt is the Trennfeld quarry pond, which I like to use for a swim. However, I haven't been to this lake yet this year. At the moment I prefer the lake in Mondfeld. However, both lakes have very good water quality at the moment. No blue-green algae far and wide.

Unweit von Lengfurt befindet sich der Trennfelder Baggersee, den ich gernen für ein Badevergnügen nutze. Allerdings war ich dieses Jahr noch nicht in diesem See. Momentan ziehe ich den See von Mondfeld vor. Beide Seen haben aber zu Zeit eine sehr gute Wasserqualität. Keine Blaualgen weit und breit.

Der Hund gehört uns nicht, sondern den Schwiegereltern. Aber er versteht sich super mit dem Kater, ;-)
Mushrooms some for lunch or dinner, others for the slugs and snails always share in nature.
Woodlands, pastures and waterways all looking happy under bright sunlight once again, Rhodesian Ridgeback looks ready to run and have fun with the family.
