My children's school vacations are slowly coming to an end. We tried to relax a little between the years. However, due to the very rainy weather, we did less outdoors than we had actually planned. Fortunately, the flood situation here in Franconia is not dramatic. We have experienced completely different floods here in Wertheim am Main (river) over the past decades and centuries. Fortunately, the old town of Wertheim was only affected by a severe flood once in the two thousand and ten years. However, as the Tauber (river) flows into the Main in Wertheim, people are prepared for this. Once a decade, however, our small town regularly appears in the national news due to the flood situation.

langsam neigen sich die Schulferien meiner Kinder dem Ende entgegen. Zwischen den Jahren haben wir versucht, ein wenig zu entspannen. Auf Grund des sehr regnerischen Wetters haben wir aber weniger in der freien Natur unternommen als eigentlich geplant war. Glücklicherweise ist bei uns hier in Tauberfranken die Hochwasserlage nicht dramatisch. Da haben wir hier in Wertheim in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten und Jahrhunderten schon ganz andere Hochwasser erlebt. In den zweitausendzehner Jahren war die Wertheimer Altstadt zum Glück nur einmal von einem stärkeren Hochwasser betroffen. Da in Wertheim die Tauber in den Main mündet ist man allerdings darauf vorbereitet. Einmal im Jahrzehnt taucht unsere Kleinstadt aber in schöner Regelmäßigkeit in den deutschlandweiten Nachrichten auf Grund der Hochwassersituation auf.
Despite the often adverse conditions, I also went on a few forest hikes in winter and also looked for mushrooms. I used to only look for mushrooms in the fall. But there are also interesting and sometimes edible mushrooms in winter. For example, the extremely tasty oyster mushroom.

Trotz der widrigen Umstände habe ich auch im Winter einige Waldtouren unternommen und dabei auch nach Pilzen Ausschau gehalten. Früher habe ich mich darauf beschränkt, nur im Herbst Pilze zu suchen. Dabei gibt es auch im Winter interessant und z.T. auch essbare Pilze. Zum Beispiel den äußerst wohlschmeckenden Austernsaitling.
I would have left the larch woodwax unnoticed in the past. As I'm a complete novice in the field of this mushroom species, I'm not 100% sure about the identification here. However, I believe that the identification is correct. The characteristics matched and there is also a larch nearby. Of course, I didn't collect the mushroom for eating purposes. I only do that when I am 100% sure. I was interested in further education.

Den Lärchen-Schneckling hätte ich früher unbeachtet stehen lassen. Da ich auf dem Gebiet der Schnecklinge ein Neuling bin, bin ich mir bei der Bestimmung hier nicht zu 100% sicher. Allerdings glaube ich, daß die Bestimmung passt. Die Merkmale passten und auch eine Lärche steht in der Nähe. Natürlich habe ich den Pilz nicht zu Speisezwecken gesammelt. Das mache ich nur, wenn ich mir zu 100% sicher bin. Mir ging es hier um Weiterbildung.
On one tour it was quite stormy in the forest. It was borderline that I was out in the forest that day. Because a tree can always fall over or a branch can fall from a tree. That is not without danger.

Auf einer Tour war es im Wald ganz schön stürmisch. Es war grenzwertig, an diesem Tag im Wald gewesen zu sein, denn es kann immer mal ein Baum kippen oder ein Ast vom Baum fallen. Das ist nicht ungefährlich.

Sehr schöne Aufnahmen. Man mag glauben im Winter ist der Wald im kompletten Winterschlaf, doch die Pilze scheinen hier sehr lebendig zu sein! :)
