Griboyedov Canal (visual walk of 21 photos)

Whatever you say, a city without water would be much less interesting. Apparently, therefore, Venice is always filled with tourists. This tourism center is too far from me. But I live in Venice of the North - that's what St. Petersburg is sometimes called.

I will repeat what I said earlier on this subject. The city is located in the Neva delta and this delta consists of many rivers and canals. Ultimately, all this water ends up in the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea. But this is not the main thing. The main thing is the beauty that all these rivers and canals form in combination with urban architecture. Someday I will make a photo study of this topic - a photo shoot dedicated to rivers, canals and bridges. In the meantime, we are returning from the islands of New Holland towards the center. And, of course, we could not help but go along the bed of one of the canals. We started our walk with it - this is the Griboyedov Canal.

But first we need to leave the Moika. The sun is already setting and the river is plunging into shadow.

This crane stands near the building of the conservatory, which has been under repair for several years. And the trees beginning to turn green belong to the Theater Square. To my left is the famous Mariinsky Theatre. Now I will show it to you.

But we pass by without stopping. Affects slight fatigue from the hike.

I don't know what exactly was here before, it looks like fire truck garages or stables. Now it is some kind of fast food or cafe.

And here you can see the Griboyedov Canal. The two white figures are statues of lions (two on each side of the bridge. This is the Lion Bridge.

Along the way, we look into the courtyard. It's always interesting. I like to look in... It's pretty tight, so I'm trying to get a panorama.

Another cute patio with a flower bed. The trees are still almost bare, but the tulips have already hatched buds.

Now let's go along the canal itself. It also begins to sink into the shade, but since it curves strongly, its banks are alternately illuminated by the sun. It's funny.

Some streets are very short and it's even beautiful.

The last photo is the sum of the two previous ones. The channel is a bit narrow for my lens. The whole building does not fit into the frame. I had to do a vertical panorama again. Glory Lightroom.

That's all for now, it's time to take a break. I am hungry.
See you soon, friends.

Canals definitely do make a city much more interesting. Newark, Delaware (where I live) seems lucky to have a creek. At least it's a fun creek!

I hope you were able to finally find some food!

Yes, any water brings urban landscapes to life. I think that people did not originate from monkeys, but from ancient amphibians))
Of course we didn't go hungry, at least that time.🤣 😂😅 🍄

Cheers and !BEER
