Gullfoss ("Golden Falls") is an icelandic waterfall located in a canyon of the Hvítá river (southwest Iceland).
"The Hvítá river flows southward, and about a kilometre above the falls it turns sharply to the right and flows down into a wide curved three-step 'staircase' and then abruptly plunges in two stages. The average amount of water running down the waterfall is 141 cubic metres per second in the summer and 80 cubic metres per second in the winter. The highest flood measured was 2,000 cubic metres per second." (from Wikipedia)

To reach the most beautiful place to watch the waterfall, you should walk on a path, and sometimes (it depends on wind) the splashing waterfall from the water become a soft rain, creating wonderful visual effects:
If clouds don't cover sun, a rainbow is always visible here:
Here you can see the great amount of tourists: Gullfoss is indeed one of the three main attractions in Iceland, being part of the Golden Circle (Gullfoss, Þingvellir and the of Haukadalur geysers).
I would love to visit this place in winter, with no people and with the ice all around.

Beautiful series! That waterfall is amazing. I was there januari 2021 and I was the only visitor there. It was cold and big parts of the waterfall were covered in ice. As was the path to other viewpoint. It mas magic to stand in front such a big waterfall just by myself. Will never forget it.
