Ibex in Valpelline

Last weekend I went up to Nakamuli and Collon refugee, in Valpelline, Aosta valley (Italy/Switzerland).

I collaborate to a documentary about old Collon refugee, a lost place in the wild, many years ago used as place to rest and sleep before a climbing day, now replaced by a newer and more comfortable refugee (Nakamuli). This documentary is about collecting memory of that place, to promote it hoping it will remembered and saved due to its historical value.

During a break, I followed an ibex on the rock. It was very photogenic! I stayed faraway to take some pics, then I tried to get close to him, and he has gone away, walking on a ridge and going back to the refugee.

Pictures taken with Nikon D800, 70-200 F4.

Wild with big horns.. lovely photography... Nice work keep it up

Wow, it's such a beautiful creature. Those horns are everything! Also the appearance of this creature really suits the appearance of that environment, like they compliment each other. Great shots @barnabo73

What a beautiful beast, thanks for sharing your photos.

It looks like it posed for you, did you bring some salt for it?

Really!
No, i haven't any food for him

They really like it if you bring a big bag of salt up there and throw it on the ground, they crave it sort of like horses and cattle.

Wow. You walked this and saw that?

What a moment! Bit jealous :)

Incredible

yes, I did! Thank you

Spectacular! I'll look out for more...

What a fortunate encounter that was for you and the ibex. Your photos are stunning!

Beautiful photos

What a shot, it must be taking lot of effort to have it freeze.
