RE: To tree or to fake tree

Ha, ha, ha. This a refreshing post. I liked Christmass when I was younger, but it was a thing of getting gifts. Now, what I like about it is the food. But the food would be as delicious without the Christmass setting. So, these things are just too fuzzy. Also, getting the decorations down is annoying.

I love to see Smallsteps is having fun with silly faces to the camera and putting on the decorations.

Regarding the trees and booze. I think they should let people get trees, but pay for them. Some people like to have the authentic pine scent in they houses. If you ever get one and it is a spruce, save me the wood. It's great for instruments. About the alcohol thing, I guess Finns are a lot like Venezuelans. The liquor stores are always full. They haven't stopped selling even if the Government said they couldn't. But the Government doesn't enforce on these things; Finland's seems to have just found a way around it in a more profitable way.

And they are also like us as we also celebrate the big dinner on the 24th and 25th is just "leftovers-reheat day". I only hope on that day I can eat a reheated pork sandwich and drink some wine for breakfast.

To conclude, the house is looking fine and the Industrial "thingy" gives it strength.

Sort:

Good food is only as good as the company it is enjoyed with. The best steak is only okay when eaten alone.

Real trees are available for sale, but it kind of takes the fun out of it. Finland is absolutely covered in Spruce trees. Finns are big drinkers, as it seems it is the only way for them to have any emotional outlet :)

Ah, so Venezuelans are impatient too - good to know.

The house will get a bit warmer in time, but the entrance is pretty hard and cold at the moment. Later we will put a rug down or something.

Not really, for many years what was celebrated here was the Magi's thing. You know in January, like the Spanish do.

And the thing with dinner is that it is very late. Almost to get to the other day. So it is a thing of midnight eating shenanigans.
