Mushroom, Cat and a funny story from this summer

in Photography Lovers11 days ago (edited)

What do you get when you combine a cat and a mushroom?

....well, nothing spectacular, you get a blended blog about both. :)

I took photos of mushroom a week or two ago and our chubby gray yard cat maybe even a month before that.
It just stayed like that in the gallery, unfinished and unposted, so I figured I should fix that mistake.

Back then it was still autumn, a mix of a rainy day and the sun suddenly popping out from behind the clouds. I put on my cute purple sneakers, which have been squeezing me for quite a while, but I keep them so I can wear them around the yard a bit. Besides the fact that they have been half a size too small for like years, they are all canvas and torn in a few places, so I soaked up all the rainwater from the grass that day while I was photographing this little mushroom beauty! Isn't she lovely? She must have some princess like name plus she must be "she" cause of that princess dress she's wearing.

If you're wondering why it's upside down, that's my fault. Whether I accidentally kicked it off with my foot while I was walking or my curiosity to see what it looks like from the other side wasn't all that accidental, I can't really remember exactly. Knowing me, it's more likely the second one. xD
What species it is, I have no clue. I keep putting off doing a search by image, as if it were a three day job, so I'm kind of too lazy to do it. Can you maybe recognize it just from these photos? I found a few like that in the orchard, well hidden in the grass between the pear, apple and hazelnut trees.
They're not silly, they know where it's the nicest to be. 🤤

And now it's time to give a little attention to this big gray fluffball. I don't know if I've already told you how annoyed I got this summer when he stole my catch.
I sat by the pond down there for almost half a day, casting and casting, I mean I tried everything. Bread, corn, worms... And when I did catch something, I would pull these tiny ones out, the length of a thumb, then put them back in the water.

The cat was circling around me the whole time. He could clearly smell there would be fish, the little thief. Otherwise he is a real cuddlebug, you cannot get rid of him, he just winds around your legs and purrs and when he follows me around the yard, he speeds up a few steps, overtakes me, then throws himself in front of my feet like in these photos and rolls around and cuddles up. 🥰

Anyway, that day the rod started shaking a bit more seriously. I jumped up and started pulling, imagining that I was fighting a blue whale and not a little carp. Well, it wasn't small like the others, this one was surely 1 kg, bigger than my hand. Just about to grab it and unhook it, cat appeared and started jumping and swiping with his sharpen claws. At that moment the fish unhooked itself from the hook and fell to the ground, cat caught it in mid air and at full speed ran off into the little woods behind. I went crazy, really crazy!!! It was not funny to me at all like it is now when I am writing this, he had really made me angry.

That is why he is being all sweet now, trying to make me forget his thievery from the summer.
