I found out about an original photography contest from a place where I never thought I would see this. From a post in LeoFinance. I found there a reference to the invitation to the contest made by @enginewitty. All the details here Memory Lane😌 - A Photography Contest?. I say it's worth a try, the prizes are more than generous.
The theme of the contest invites you to a nostalgic memory of the past moments but saved with the help of your smartphone and iCloud or Google Photos applications. The first five photos with their stories.
When I saw the theme I knew that it is mandatory to participate because my favorite saying is: "Every picture tells a story"!
Unfortunately, I will not be able to fully comply with the "first five" rule (if I understood the rule correctly). This works for those who do not take many photos. I, on the other hand, am sick of photography, I photograph almost everything I see around me and I photograph every subject dozens of times. If I followed this rule, all five of my photos would actually be just one, made from different angles.
This habit of mine had another drawback, namely, the rapid occupation of the entire space allocated by Google. That's why I had to save some of the photos and delete most of them from Google Photos.
In this situation, I find myself in the situation of choosing a photo from each year that has passed since I started using Google Photos, that is, from 2015. I know that this could lead to a disqualification but it doesn't matter. The theme of this contest is much too much to my liking not to participate.
Of the thousands of memories, only five now!
I chose these five photos. It was a great pleasure for me to remember those moments, I don't really remember the past, I can't tell facts and events that happened years ago but now I find that looking at these photos I remember perfectly the context in which they were made. So I (still) have memory, but it's more visual! A discovery made thanks to this contest!
