When are fish the tastiest?
When the fish jump from sea to the plate!
I love the sea but am not lucky enough to live near it. Or maybe this is lucky. Distance keeps the passion alive!
A few hundred kilometres to the sea, in Romania, where I live or in the neighbouring country Bulgaria. Two countries, same sea, the Black Sea.
I have to admit that it's nicer in Bulgaria and I'm glad that patriotism doesn't stop me from being objective.
I manage to go a few times a summer to the sea, most of the time to the small town in Bulgaria called Balchik.
I love the sea for everything it offers and among these gifts, an important place is occupied by food. I love to eat fish. The tastiest fish is the one that gets from the seawater to your plate the fastest.
In Balchik, we ate at a small restaurant, the Blue Lion. The food is not very good-looking, there is not much concern for the image, the design and the colour of the plate. They don't need that because the food is very tasty and that's why it is appreciated.
This is why the photos for this competition are not spectacular. I hope they at least suggest freshness and great taste!
My participation in this contest, as an amateur, of course!

Oh yes @bluemoon, those are the best fish! I remember my childhood when we caught the fish and we assisted them onto the plate only a short time later.
A lot of fishermen like to fish on our surf beach and they catch fish, many of whom they need to throw back because they are undersized. I am thinking that it is more about standing in the water holding onto the rod rather than providing fish for dinner.😀What in the world are these fish @bluemoon, I don't think I have seem them before. I daresay they must be tasty.
And you are right, the best fish comes straight out of the sea, cooked or baked or grilled onto your plate.
I’m a big fan of fish when they are so fresh…
Have a lovely day 👋🏻😊They truly look so delicious @bluemoon
I thought it's animal at first sight, then I find it's food lol
I can assure you that you would never lose your allure for the sea, even if you lived beachside! I grew up on the water and our best memories are casting offshore for the fish of the day. One of my brothers always took the boat, they sold the extra to the seafood restaurants. Those may not be the prettiest, but, then they don't have to look pretty if they taste good.
When it was low tide, we would feel with out feet and get clams. The sea is a wonderful friend. She feeds us, entertains us and gives us exercise if we wish.
What better friend, I ask you?
I love this post! It has all the things I love in it!

I love fried fish))
Very tasty food in a nice place 😊
My wife hates it when they leave the head on the fish. She won't eat anything g with a head still attached hahaha. I don't mind at all. That looks quite good to me.
The fish looks frightening like piranha in fact :) I have never heard of this fish in Black Sea. Maybe it is not in the part of Turkish coastline.
I think the name Balchik comes from the Turkish word Balçık, which means mud.
The fish is very tasty. Of course not every fish. The appearance of the food is important to me
I can feel the taste from just looking at the photos
It must be delicious!
Ohh that looks good would love to try it thanks for sharing friend 😃
