If it's Tuesday, then it's the tree (not Belgium!)

I've found lately that I'm finding it harder and harder to find a suitable title for my posts, especially since I'm working so hard to post daily this November (HiveBloPoMo month).

I know that a title must be attractive, to attract the attention of the potential reader. It should relate to what you write in the blog, be original, and arouse curiosity. Hard to satisfy all these requirements!

The title of this post probably doesn't make sense to most readers. That's why I feel compelled to explain a bit. I was and am a movie lover, I saw a lot of movies, especially in my youth. Because of this many titles of movies that I liked come to mind. When I said it was Tuesday, I automatically remembered the title of an old film called "If it's Tuesday, then it's Belgium". A film in which a group of young people visited Europe, went from country to country and arrived in Belgium on a Tuesday. That's all I remember.

I meant that if it's Tuesday, then it's about trees. The well-known challenge of @old-guy-photos, #treetuesday, a photo challenge with the subject of trees.

I'm a city man, like many of us. Just as many, if not more, live in small towns or villages, much closer to nature anyway.

City life versus country life!

A permanent dilemma in saying which is better, more desirable. People like me, city dwellers have advantages in terms of comfort and country dwellers have advantages in terms of quality of life, fresh air, lack of stress.

It's hard to say which is better and, in general, everyone thinks what they don't have is better!

When you live close to nature, in the middle of it, you have a choice! In this specific case, you have countless tree poses to choose from, so there are designs and subjects. If you know how to capture some images then the problem is solved. I mean the photographer is helped a lot by nature, you just have to see it.

img_20211112_114502.jpg

For those who live in the city, it is different, I can say the other way around. City dwellers also love nature and try to have it close to them in the cities. Only space is limited on the streets or in the backyards of houses, where they exist. Only parks and possible botanical gardens allow a wider development of nature.

img_20211112_114521.jpg

So in the city, we have more limited access to nature. Many parks are particularly beautiful, are landscaped by specialists, and offer stunning views, but few. What does that mean? It means that when you want to post a lot about nature, especially with the imposed theme, like trees, you repeat yourself, use similar photos.

img_20211112_114528.jpg

To avoid this we should always try to photograph from as many different positions and angles as possible, even if the differences are small the result is a new photo. In this post, apart from the first photo, all the others are very similar but... not identical! You can check...

I remember from my childhood. I used to find some games in magazines, they showed pictures that looked identical but weren't. You had to figure out what the differences were, they were given numbers and it was hard to find them all. We used to have contests to find them all the fastest!

This photo in which I tried to catch the sun reminded me of another occurrence to prove what I said here, above, namely about the advantage of those who live close to nature and easily find views and images that capture by themselves and make the photographer's job easier.

I have participated many times in a popular sun-themed photo contest. My photos were noticed, as long as I had images from my holidays at the sea. When I used photos of the sun, as I could do in the city, I didn't stand a chance. The other fellow participants, who lived close to the sea and could capture sunrises and sunsets on the sea, were always the winners. Rightly so. But with the great help of nature!

Every Tuesday I try to do a post about trees, in a challenge that is about photography. Not only do the photos end up repeating themselves but so do the words, because I've written about it so many times. What more can I say about trees, beyond the usual platitudes always said?

I can say that I love trees, which I perceive as beings. They are beings because they live, they are alive, but I see them as beings, just like people who cannot move. I think about what it would be like if we humans had our feet stuck in the ground and couldn't move, couldn't get close to each other, what would life be like?

Of course, many situations can be imagined from here but this would be the subject of some fantastic prose posts.

Some beautiful shots and stories to tell through the pictures! Thanks for sharing. I like the one with the bench in the bottom right the best.

With pleasure! I thank you for reading and enjoying it.

The pleasure was mine! Keep up the great work. =)

Very nice autumn colours. It's looking cool with the shade if the trees and the low hanging sun.

Thank you! I liked the look of those trees too, with the sun behind them and I was glad I could photograph something like that.
