Introduction
One of the animals that has a lot of types is insects. From several sources that I searched on the internet, there are more than 1 million species of insects that are already known. The estimate is that the number of insect species reaches 6 million to 10 million species. This number represents as much as 90% of the forms of animal life on earth. Well, in this post I have the opportunity to share pictures and information about several types of insects that I got pictures of around my place of residence.
1. Red Lady Bug
Its name is lady bug, that's what most people usually know it as. This tiny animal is a type of beetle, namely the ladybug. Lady bugs are quite common around where we live, especially in plantations and fields of grass.
Many people really like this type of insect. That is because of its beautiful shape. In addition, this animal is not dangerous even for babies. But farmers like it, because some species of this insect eat small insects that are agricultural pests.
A single ladybug can eat thousands of pests in its lifetime. Although there are also some species of ladybugs that eat leaves, so they can also be pests for farmers. The largest size of a ladybug is only 1 cm.
Ladybugs have a distinctive appearance that makes them easy to distinguish from other insects. Their bodies are almost round with a pair of hard wings on their backs. The hard wings on their backs are colorful, but generally brightly colored with a polka dot pattern.
2. Dome Shape-Beetle
The next image is a dome-shaped beetle. This beetle is between 4-6 mm long. The body of this beetle is shiny black with a brownish head and front wing edges. This type of beetle is active in the morning and evening, while during the day it hides in the cracks in the ground.
This beetle is the main enemy of soybean farmers. It also often eats leaves, plant shoots, flowers and pods. If the plant is touched, the beetle will drop itself as if dead.
3. Large Milkweed Bug
This large milkweed beetle is found in abundance around our neighborhood. It undergoes incomplete transformation and shows small changes during development such as color changes, wing development and genitalia.
This kind of bug can range from 11 to 12 mm in length and have a red/orange and black X-shaped pattern on their wings beneath the triangle that is typical for hemipterans.
