The Cage Part Two Light Painting

Hello HIVEs!

I have already dealt with the topic of cages here before. It was about the thought cage. You can find the link here:

However, this article does not describe the topic comprehensively enough. There are many types of cages. Self-imposed restrictions through consumer credit or lockdowns imposed by administrative institutions. I had chosen the latter as my topic. Especially now, when the WHO is drawing up new treaties that are to become binding for all member states, there is a great danger that this will happen again.
The lockdown during the coronavirus period is a very controversial topic. The politics of this time have divided families and friendships. I dealt with this in 2021. I don't want to withhold the pictures that were taken from you any longer.

Dieser Beitrag beschreibt das Thema aber noch nicht umfassend genug. Es gibt viele Arten von Käfigen. Selbst gewählte Einschränkungen durch Konsumkredite oder vom administrativen Institutionen verordnete Lockdowns. Letzteres hatte ich mir als Thema vorgenommen. Gerade jetzt, wo von der WHO neue Vertragswerke ausgearbeitet werden, die bindend für alle Mitgliedsstaaten werden sollen, ist die Gefahr groß, dass sich dieses Ereignis wiederholt.
Der Lockdown während der Coronazeit ist ein sehr streitbares Thema. Die Politik dieser Zeit hat Familien und Freundschaften gespalten. 2021 habe ich mich damit auseinandergesetzt. Die Bilder, die dabei entstanden sind, möchte ich euch nicht länger vorenthalten.

During the lockdowns, there were a lot of hair-raising rules. For example, I couldn't just visit my mother in the nursing home. I had to provide proof of a current corona test, agree a visiting time with the home management (maximum 2 hours!) and then meet my mother in a building guarded by soldiers. The visiting room was like a prison. I had to sit at a table that was separated into two areas by a pane of glass. You were supposed to talk through a closed window. Touching or even hugging was not possible.
Cruel!
In the end, I left the home with my mother for a walk and we had a lovely time in the great outdoors without these restrictions.

Während der Lockdowns gab es sehr viele haarsträubende Regeln. So konnte ich z.B. meine Mutter nicht ohne Weiteres im Altenheim besuchen. Ich musste einen aktuellen Corona-Test nachweisen, mit der Heimleitung eine Besuchszeit vereinbaren (maximal 2h!), um meine Mutter dann in einem, von Soldaten bewachten Gebäude, zu treffen. Der Besuchsraum glich einem Gefängnis. Ich musste an einen Tisch Platz nehmen, der durch eine Glasscheibe in zwei Bereiche getrennt war. So sollte man sich dann wie durch ein geschlossenes Fenster unterhalten. Berührungen oder gar Umarmungen waren nicht möglich. Grausam! Letztendlich habe ich dann mit meiner Mutter das Heim für einen Spaziergang verlassen und wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in freier Natur ohne diese Einschränkungen.

A friend from Paraguay told me that his family locked his sister, who was ill with coronavirus, in a room for two weeks and left her food outside the door during this time. There was no visit to the doctor or medical care.

It was cruel! I hope that as many people as possible have reflected on this dark time and drawn the right conclusions from it. Panic is not a good advisor. Prudent action is called for in these crazy times!

Ein Freund aus Paraguay berichtete mir, dass seine Familie, die an Corona erkrankte Schwester für zwei Wochen in einem Raum gesperrt hat und ihr in dieser Zeit das Essen vor die Tür stellte. Ein Arztbesuch oder medizinische Versorgung gab es nicht.

Es war grausam! Ich hoffe, dass möglichst viele Menschen diese finstere Zeit reflektiert haben und die richtigen Schlüsse daraus ziehen. Panik ist kein guter Berater. Besonnenes Handeln ist in diesen verrückten Zeiten gefragt!

The Set

To place the transparent columns in the picture, I used a 2m DIY pixel stick that I had mounted on my Orbomat to be able to perform the circular movement cleanly. I brought the models into the picture with an LEDLenser. Last but not least, I flashed the flashlight from the center of the scene towards the lens. In the following picture I show the tool in my studio.

Um die transparenten Säulen ins Bild zu setzen, verwendete ich einen 2m DIY -Pixelstick, den ich an meinen Orbomat montiert hatte, um die Kreisbewegung sauber ausführen zu können. Die Models brachte ich mit einer LEDLenser ins Bild. Zu guter letzt blitzte ich mit der Taschenlampe aus der Mitter der Szene in Richtung des Objektivs. Auf dem folgenden Bild zeige ich das Tool in meinem Studio.

What Is Light Painting?

Light painting is a unique art form. As a rule, the darkness is illuminated by the artist with various light sources and traces of light are painted into the picture with various lighting tools. Various techniques are used, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. When using ND filters, this technique can also be used in daylight. All images were taken during a single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cropping and possibly adjusting the white balance, the images are not processed on the computer.

Lichtmalerei ist eine einzigartige Kunstform. In der Regel wird die Dunkelheit mit diversen Lichtquellen vom Künstler ausgeleuchtet und Lichtspuren mit diversen Lichtwerkzeugen ins Bild gemalt. Dabei kommen verschiedene Techniken zum Einsatz, wie Kamerarotation oder andere Bewegungen der Kamera während der Belichtung. Die kreativen Möglichkeiten sind nahezu unbegrenzt. Bei Einsatz von ND-Filtern kann diese Technik auch bei Tageslicht angewand werden. Alle Bilder wurden während einer einzigen Belichtung aufgenommen. Abgesehen vom Entrauschen, Schärfen, Beschneiden und eventuellem Anpassen des Weißabgleichs werden die Bilder nicht am Computer bearbeitet.
