Are you thinking puppy or adoption? Sometimes they already know the history and temperament of shelter dogs. Or if you want to do the whole puppy thing, you can teach them about cats from a young age. Of course, cats aren't always a big fan of puppies... 😅
Haven’t decided yet. Probably a young puppy would be the way to go, so they can get used to each other without any preconceived notions.
